Full Job Description
The Opportunity

The school of Medicine is hiring a Technical Support Coordinator to join their team! This role will provide front-line technical support to learners, clinical faculty and staff using the School of Medicine's (SoM) medical education and healthcare technologies. You will support routine system administration, troubleshoot, resolve service requests within established standards, and escalate complex issues as appropriate. You will also be responsible for developing user resources, coordinating end-user training, performing system and data quality checks, and participating in testing and service improvement activities to support reliable system operations and a positive user experience.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement by gathering user feedback, identifying recurring service issues and implementing approved changes to support processes and resources.
  • Communicate system updates, outages, planned maintenance, enhancements, deployments and incidents.
  • Assist with user account provisioning, role assignments, permissions changes, bulk-user activities and other user administration tasks.
  • Perform testing, validation of system configuration and audits related to system usage and compliance.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects involving medical education and healthcare systems and integrations.
Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma program in information technology, education technology, healthcare informatics or a related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of related experience providing technical and application administration support for one or more enterprise, educational or healthcare technology systems, including troubleshooting, user-access administration, system testing, preparation of technical and user documentation, and end-user training.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise and specialized medical education and healthcare technology systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Learning and Assessment
  • Management Systems (LAMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), or comparable applications;
  • Working knowledge of enterprise application concepts, including systems architecture, databases, APIs, data standards, integrations and relevant interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR and LTI;
  • Awareness of applicable accessibility standards, including AODA and WCAG, universal design principles, and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) and Accessibility considerations relevant to digital tools and workflows;
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting web-based applications, browsers, operating systems and common system-access or configuration issues;
  • Proficiency using service-management, collaboration and productivity tools, such as Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, Google Workspace, SharePoint, WordPress, Notion, or comparable applications;
  • Strong client-service and oral and written communication skills, including active listening and the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users;
  • Strong organizational, time-management and prioritization skills to manage multiple service requests and meet established response targets;
