Job Description

Technical Staff (Acoustics), Engineering Technologist

We are seeking a highly experienced Acoustic Engineer to lead the analysis, design, and optimization of acoustic performance across a range of products and environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in noise and vibration (NVH), sound quality, and acoustic modeling, along with the ability to guide cross-functional teams and influence system-level design decisions.

The ideal candidate will combine advanced analytical skills with practical engineering experience to deliver innovative acoustic solutions that meet performance, regulatory, and customer expectations.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Technical Staff (Acoustics) on our Engineering Technologist team in Austin, Texas.

What you'll achieve:

As a Technical Staff (Acoustics), you'll provide expert guidance on technology investigations, prototyping strategies, and data generation that drive product decisions. You'll synthesize insights from experiments and literature to advise leaders and shape roadmaps. You will mentor technologists and contribute to playbooks and tool improvements.

You will:
  • Lead acoustic engineering activities throughout the product development lifecycle, including system-level target setting, design analysis, and validation to meet customer and performance requirements
  • Develop and apply advanced acoustic and vibration modeling techniques, perform noise source identification and root cause analysis, and translate simulation and test results into design improvements
  • Design, evaluate, and implement noise and vibration mitigation solutions, including barriers, absorbers, isolators, and damping treatments to optimize product performance
  • Plan, oversee, and interpret laboratory and field acoustic testing, ensuring correlation between measured and simulated data while maintaining compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and stakeholders to drive acoustic performance objectives, provide technical leadership and mentorship, and advance engineering tools, processes, and best practices
