Job Description:

  • Lead the creation of next-generation automotive reference architectures, proof-of-concept platforms, and strategic customer solutions in emerging domains including Software Defined Vehicles (SDV), zonal architectures, In-Vehicle Networking, and 48V vehicle systems
  • Architect and Develop technical demonstrators to showcase automotive solutions at industry events, technical conferences, trade shows, and customer workshops
  • Define and develop advanced evaluation platforms and reference designs showcasing solutions in Automotive Ethernet, High speed Serial interface for camera & display, and high-performance compute connectivity applications
  • Drive strategic customer engagements from concept through production, providing technical leadership in system architecture, integration, validation, and deployment.
  • Author and oversee creation of high-value technical collateral, including white papers, architectural guides, reference implementations, application notes, and technical training programs
  • Represent and promote automotive portfolio at industry conferences, technical forums, customer workshops, and trade events.
  • Collaborate with product business units to influence product roadmaps, identify emerging market requirements, and drive investments aligned with future automotive technology trends. Provide customer-driven feedback and recommendations for improvements in hardware, software, development tools, and documentation
  • Establish strategic partnerships with OEM architecture groups, technology consortiums, software partners, and industry influencers to strengthen Microchip's position in next-generation automotive platforms


Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline;
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 12+ years of industry experience in embedded systems, automotive electronics, or related application engineering roles.


Required Skills
  • Deep expertise in embedded systems, including SoCs, microcontrollers, firmware, middleware, and application software development using C/C++
  • Extensive experience in firmware, middleware, and application software development on both bare-metal and RTOS/Linux-based platforms.
  • Solid understanding of hardware design concepts, including schematic review, board bring-up, debugging, and familiarity with PCB design and layout tools.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and developing complex Automotive E/E systems and networked embedded platforms
  • Strong knowledge of automotive networking technologies, including Automotive Ethernet, PCIe, CAN/CAN-FD, high-speed serial interfaces, and MIPI CSI/DSI
  • Excellent technical communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, OEM architects, executives, and cross-functional engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of Software Defined Vehicle (SDV), zonal architectures, domain controllers, gateways, and next-generation vehicle networking architectures
  • Experience in the design, development, and validation of Automotive Electrical/Electronic (E/E) systems, including networked and distributed architectures.
  • Experience developing technical demonstrators, proof-of-concept platforms, and reference architectures showcased at customer events, trade shows, and industry conferences
  • Active participation in industry consortiums, standards organizations, or technical conferences related to automotive networking and vehicle architectures
  • Familiarity with automotive functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity standards and secure communication technologies
  • Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across globally distributed teams
