Job Description

The Technical Specialist serves as an entry-level to developing technical professional, crucial to supporting the field sales organization and ensuring customer program success within water treatment applications. This role is focused on building foundational expertise and applying core technical skills under the guidance of experienced team members. The Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of standard customer solutions, supporting basic troubleshooting, and maintaining accurate documentation while utilizing digital tools. Success in this role requires a strong eagerness to learn, meticulous attention to detail, and a collaborative
approach to meeting customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Program Support:
• Provide essential technical support for standard water treatment applications, collaborating closely with senior team members.
• Conduct basic water testing, equipment inspections, and support field testing of standard products and applications.
• Assist in fundamental troubleshooting activities under direct supervision.
• Shadow experienced colleagues during customer visits and technical reviews to build on-the-job competency.

Data Management & Documentation:
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of assigned accounts within digital platforms (e.g., CMS, SPG).
• Assist in routine technical data collection and analysis to support program performance metrics and technical excellence audits.
• Support preparation of comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
• Help coordinate sample analysis and ensure proper documentation is maintained.

Compliance & Professional Development:
• Learn and actively apply fundamental water treatment concepts and chemical product applications.
• Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures and all established safety protocols, actively promoting safety awareness.
• Participate in required technical training to continuously build expertise in core competencies.
• Support basic data gathering for bids and proposals.

Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive engineering or technical sales experience in the water treatment or industrial sector.
• Travel: Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30 - 50% of the time within the assigned territory.

Work Environment & Compliance:
  • Must reside in the assigned region or within customer proximity requirements, as required.
  • Ability to work frequently in heavy industrial environments (e.g., refinery, chemical plants, power plants), requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and exposure to typical irritants (noise, dust, chemicals).
  • Ability and willingness to comply with stringent customer safety requirements, including drug testing and background checks, as required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with computer applications, including Google Suite and MS Office.

• Foundational knowledge of water chemistry, dosage calculations, and standard industrial water applications.
• Basic troubleshooting capabilities with the ability to leverage technical resources under guidance.

Additional Information

  • Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: USD $110K-130K
