Full Job Description
Quecon is seeking a Technical Specialist L3 to provide advanced engineering and technical support for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) National Airspace System (NAS). This position supports hardware and software design, development, testing, integration, quality assurance, asset management, and logistics activities for both legacy and emerging FAA technologies.

The successful candidate will perform system-wide analyses and develop solutions that support NAS performance, reliability, maintainability, and modernization efforts while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide second-level engineering support for software and hardware systems, including design, development, testing, implementation, and sustainment.
  • Perform system-wide analyses and functional allocations of NAS hardware and software systems.
  • Evaluate technical solutions related to functional performance, facilities, electromagnetic interference (EMI), regression impact analysis, reliability, sustainability, human factors, and other FAA engineering considerations.
  • Interface with hardware, software, logistics, and testing specialists to develop integrated system solutions.
  • Support complex NAS software systems and applications using technologies such as C, C++, Java, SQL, Assembly, CASE tools, and IEEE-STD-12207 software development processes.
  • Coordinate and perform hardware and software testing activities, including development of test plans, remediation plans, implementation plans, and technical reports.
  • Interpret and analyze information systems data to create technical documentation, system diagrams, presentations, and engineering reports.
  • Perform drafting and design activities using AutoCAD, P-CAD, or similar CAD tools.
  • Support quality assurance, asset management, inventory accountability, logistics, configuration management, and documentation activities.
  • Assist with analysis, assembly, programming, testing, packaging, and implementation efforts to ensure compliance with FAA requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in engineering, systems analysis, software development, testing, technical operations, or related technical fields.
  • Experience supporting hardware and software system design, development, testing, and integration.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Position of Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting FAA programs, NAS technologies, telecommunications, networking, satellite communications, or air traffic control systems.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming, client/server development, cross-browser development, and Unix/Linux environments.
  • Experience with quality assurance, logistics, asset management, or configuration management processes.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, P-CAD, or similar design applications.
