FTS has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA.
The Systems Engineer provides subject matter expertise to customers in ground system design, architecture development, cloud application development, and system testing.
Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership for the integration of mission systems
- Analyze user needs, concept of operations, and high-level systems architectures to develop system requirements
- Provide technical support to government points of contacts
- Identify and communicate system engineering risks, issues, opportunities, assumptions, mitigations, and dependencies
- Collaborate with SETA team members, development contractors, and customer forums
- Effectively communicate and interface with engineers from various contractors and government organizations
- Develop assessments and briefings to a variety of audiences, must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership
Required Skills/Qualifications- TS/SCI with polygraph
- BS STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) in engineering discipline
- 13+ years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of GEOINT and SIGINT overall space and ground architecture including mission control and/or mission processing functions
- Program lifecycle experience from concept development and design to deployment, operations and maintenance, decommission
- Experience with CONOPS requirements development, interface control documentation, technical specification review, architecture development
- Experience in mission operations environment - ops tempo, performance characterization, utility analysis, system calibrations
- Polished communicator, technical topics readily understood by all stakeholders
- Strong documentation skills, a superior technical writer
- Must be self-motivated with impeccable interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), MS Outlook, MS Project
