The Facilities Architectural Technical Specialist is responsible for Job Captain type function for a historic studio lot and across the Americas portfolio. The role presents opportunity to modernize, streamline, and own processes in architectural documentation, and drawing management across various disciplines in Facilities, including design, architecture, MEP, construction, and facilities administration. In parallel, this role will also support small interior design requests.
Responsibilities:- Architectural Documentation and Drawing Management
- Organize and maintain architectural and engineering document library in hard copy and digital formats
- Coordinate with Project Manager to issue background drawings to outside architects and engineers
- Assure CAD documents received from outside architects and engineers meet SPE layering standards
- Manage 3rd party drawing management service and/or software
- Coordinate distribution of Issue for Construction documents in hard copy format to Sony construction and specialty trades
- Ensure redlined as-builts are updated on the digital drawing set, either with outside architects and engineers, or internally
- Polyline updates, publish, and release drawings to Archibus for corporate offices, production offices, parking/security, sound stages, and general studio lot and Americas
- Liaison with Archibus data team to ensure all updated information is properly integrated into the system
- Provide dimensioned plans and elevations to Studio Services/Events, and Studio Operations teams
- Scan hardcopy documents to digital library
- Update lot maps
- Manage miscellaneous requests for drawings across various user groups
- Produce pricing and construction documents to support small in-house design/construction projects
- Conduct field verifications and update as-built drawings
- Create and maintain CAD drawings standards, detail standards, and space standards
- Create and maintain signage standards for all buildings in the Culver City portfolio
- Interior Design
- Support minor interior design requests inclusive of but not limited to office furniture layouts and coordination, art and graphics, finishes, renderings, space plans, etc.
- Architectural and Construction Administration
- Support Facilities Operations for architectural review and field conditions
- Conduct code reviews and respond to internal code inquiries
- Respond to request for information (RFI) and submittals where necessary
- Learning and Development
Requirements:- 1-3 Years of Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Architectural and interior design background
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and building codes
- Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Previous experience in entertainment, facilities, and property management is a plus
- Ability to produce 3D renderings
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment necessary
- Strong computer applications skills with an aptitude to learn new applications required
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and basic Microsoft Suite programs, Bluebeam
- Must be familiar with Archibus or IWMS Software
- AIA, CID, IIDA, or NCIDQ certification preferred
The anticipated base salary for this position is $77,00-$96,300. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
