Job Description

Patients with life-threatening conditions come to the Institute for Critical Care Medicine (ICCM) at Mount Sinai in their greatest hour of need. Our team of intensive care doctors, nurses, and support staff is always available to perform life-saving measures for patients who require the most critical care possible.

The Technical Specialist is responsible for the coordination of technology based on the needs of the department. S/he may participate in department I.T. needs planning, including purchasing, testing and implementation. This individual acts as a liaison with internal and external IT and others responsible for the procurement of technical resources. Oversees use and advancement of technology within home department to enhance patient care and may assist in technical needs for staff education and special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Configuration of department IT systems, including workstations and applications.
  • May participate in department systems planning and development.
  • Oversight of hardware and software systems support and upgrades. Monitors and supports anticipated future technological needs.
  • Participates in staff, student and volunteer education on related protocols and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Technical training; Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Microsoft Windows certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience of either technical support or programming/systems experience in end user computing applications, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in end user computing applications and network-based PC/workstation systems, or relevant applicable experience.
