Responsibilities

About the role:

Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) is a highly valued member of the Go-to-Market team who works directly with large, systemically important financial institutions to solve real-world problems. Working with the Business Development Managers, the Technical Sales Engineer helps to identify use cases ideal for the Canton Network and manage all technical pre-sales aspects of the customer engagement from discovery through the PoC phase. They are immersed in the latest Distributed Ledger technologies, including our domain specific contract language, Daml, but also develop sample applications, documentation, and training alongside the engineering teams to augment the Canton Network development experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as an expert in Daml and Canton to build full stack Distributed Ledger solutions on Canton Network. Be able to provide assistance on frontend development, backend integrations, and the creation of Daml models
  • Leads customer/developer learning sessions for Canton Network solution development:
    • creates course material
    • leads sessions
    • interacts with participants
  • Presents Digital Asset products, technical concepts and design to potential and existing clients through customer-facing demonstrations
  • Supports Business Development Managers on sales/pre-sales meetings and calls to comprehensively answer any technical questions
  • Supports clients through regular upgrades, including the preparation of materials and communications, e.g., release notes
  • Works closely with the Marketing and Product teams on the development of technical materials, prototypes and sales tools, and researches and articulates key differences between other technical products on the market
  • Colocates with clients and work alongside client teams for extended periods. Serves as the face of Digital Asset in our client's organization

What We're Looking For:
  • Experienced as a hands-on software engineer on a large-scale project
  • Proficient in one or more functional programming languages, ideally in a production setting
  • Excellent communications skills, comfortable presenting complex concepts in front of large client audiences
  • Able to develop proof-of-concepts for customer environments
  • Good understanding of infrastructure and how to deploy and run server based software packages in restricted client environments as well as public / private cloud environments
  • Is knowledge about large scale enterprise software architectures
  • Experienced working in a startup
  • Has domain expertise with regard to capital markets and financial market infrastructure
  • Experienced in developing and delivering technical training material
  • Experienced in developing front end/UI code using Typescript
  • Leverages development experience with Python, Java, or Scala
  • A degree in Computer Science or the equivalent


The range below may vary if based outside the New York tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut). Base salaries are determined during our interview process, during which we assess the candidate's experience, skills, and capabilities against internal peers and the scope and responsibilities of the position.
