Full Job Description
We are seeking a Technical Recruiter with deep experience in technical recruiting and a strong understanding of the hardware and/or AI landscape. This role will play a critical part in scaling our teams by owning key stages of the hiring process, delivering an exceptional candidate experience, and driving performance through reporting key metrics for talent acquisition to senior leadership and hiring teams. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, partners effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and brings both rigor and empathy to recruiting. You will have a direct impact on company growth and will help shape recruiting processes as MatX continues to scale. What You'll Do Here • Own full-cycle recruiting activities, including outbound sourcing, resume review, and initial phone screens to assess technical skills, experience, and alignment • Collaborate on the development of recruiting strategies and implement to identify, source, and hire top technical talent, with a focus on system hardware, silicon, and software roles • Hire for specialized hardware engineering roles supporting AI silicon, including RTL and microarchitecture design, verification, physical design, and SoC/power architecture. • Partner closely with leadership and hiring managers to understand hiring needs, required skills, and role-specific qualifications • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines through proactive sourcing and long-term candidate relationship building • Adapt quickly to shifting hiring priorities in a dynamic, high-growth startup environment • Provide regular, data-driven updates to leadership on pipeline metrics and candidate progress • Have a proven track record of scaling and building diverse and high-performing teams • Ensure timely, clear, and thoughtful communication with candidates throughout the early hiring stages • Ensure a world-class, professional, and highly responsive journey for every candidate Who You Are • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications in relevant Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Communications, Marketing, Human Resources/Organizational Behavior, or a related field, with equivalent practical experience • 3-5 years of experience in full-cycle technical recruiting, ideally supporting hardware, systems, or AI-focused teams in a highly competitive market at early-stage companies (Seed-Series B) • Comfortable hiring for specialized hardware and architecture roles supporting AI silicon, including SoC/power architects, RTL/microarchitecture engineers, and verification specialists • Prior experience recruiting in startup or high-growth environments, and can quickly ramp up • Prior experience with high volume recruiting (e.g., filling 25 roles per quarter) • Proven track record of hiring high-impact technical talent • Strong working knowledge of Ashby or similar applicant tracking systems • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Highly organized with strong attention to detail • This is a hybrid role that will require you to work from our Mountain View, CA office 3 days a week on Tuesday through Thursday Bonus Points If You Have • Previous experience or training as an engineer or a technical background that enhances your recruiting effectiveness • Have experience partnering with engineers and hiring talent who work on LLMs • Experience recruiting within the hardware, AI, or deep tech space • Strong interest in AI technologies and trends, with a desire to continue learning in this domain Compensation The US base salary for this full-time position is determined based on a variety of factors including role, experience, location, job related skills, and relevant education and training.
