The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end tooling projects of significant scope and complexity.  

The incumbent is accountable for the complete execution of projects, including project definition, business case development, budget management, schedule planning, milestone tracking, and the overall qualification process.  

Through strategic partnerships with the supplier base, the Technical Project Manager helps achieve the company's procurement objectives for quality, delivery, and cost. 

The position is based at our Longueuil location, from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and exclusively on-site.   

What will your day-to-day look like?  

• Technical Project Execution & Guidance: Serve as a key technical resource offering guidance to all stakeholders, while defining project scope, establishing technical goals, and managing detailed project schedules and deliverables from end to end. 

• Cost Savings & Optimization: Identify, analyze, and execute cost-savings initiatives through process optimization, touch time and lead time reduction, and technical efficiency improvements. You will be responsible for the elimination of Periodic Layout inspections, replacing them with the implementation of Continuous Tool and Casting Monitoring (CTCM). 

• Process & Workflow Adherence: Follow standard engineering and quality procedures, monitor manufacturing processes, and ensure strict compliance with standard work. 

• Technical Roadblock Resolution: Identify and eliminate cross-functional technical bottlenecks. Escalate critical structural risks to project sponsors with actionable technical solutions. 

• Supplier Quality Management: Partner closely with internal Engineering and Quality teams to evaluate technical deviations, resolve quality issues, and develop part-specific inspection plans. 

• Advanced 3D Metrology Oversight: Oversee the planning and execution of casting layouts and apply technical expertise to analyze 3D layout inspection data using specialized metrology software. 

• Supplier Assessments & Audits: Lead technical, on-site supplier assessments, establish action plans, and track supplier execution to resolve quality, technical and cost issues. 

• Process Change Management: Manage internal and external supplier transitions, ensuring process changes or cost-reduction modifications do not disrupt product quality or project timelines. 

• Data-Driven Quality Engineering: Analyze supplier inspection data and perform detailed statistical analysis to assess and improve manufacturing process capability. 

What do you need to be successful?  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 10 years of experience, OR a Master’s Degree in Engineering with 8 years of experience. 

• Experience should be in a hands-on technical project management or supplier quality role. 

• Strong organizational skills and ability to influence decisions.  

• Strong management and leadership skills.  

• Supplier & Quality Expertise: Proven track record analyzing supplier inspection data, resolving component quality deviations, and managing vendor process changes. 

• Deep technical knowledge of manufacturing, casting, and machining processes. 

• Practical experience with 3D inspection software (e.g., PolyWorks, GOM). 

• Experience identifying technical cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining part quality. 

This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

The salary range for this role is 101,500 CAD - 151,500 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
