Job Title: Technical Project Manager
Location: REMOTE
Duration: 10+ months
Job Description: This Technical Project Manager will own the end-to-end program delivery for the high-quality launch of our new Warehouse Management System. This role is accountable for building and maintaining a highly detailed, integrated project plan (including a Gantt-style timeline), aligning cross-functional partners, and proactively identifying risks ad dependencies to keep the program on track for a successful go-live. This role requires hands-on, ground-level execution leadership-not just tools and process.
Responsibilities:
• Own the master plan: Create, maintain, and continuously refine a detailed program tracker/timeline ?Gantt-level fidelity) spanning all workstreams, milestones, dependencies, critical path, and go-live/hypercare activities.
• Establish clear "rules of the road? for plan granularity, ownership, acceptance criteria, and change control so the plan is a trusted source of truth.
• Drive execution and accountability: Partner with Engineering, Product, Operations/Fulfillment, IT, vendors, and leaders to secure LOEs, timelines, resourcing, and commitment status for every task and sub-task-then actively drive follow-through to completion.
• Unblock and escalate effectively: Surface misalignment early, clarify decision owners, force crisp tradeoffs, and use explicit escalation triggers when commitments slip.
• Run risk and dependency management with rigor: Maintain a living RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) tied to critical path and operational impact.
• Define leading indicators ( "tripwires?), assign mitigation owners, track dated next steps, and connect risks to go/no-go readiness.
• Lead stakeholder engagement: Build strong relationships across stakeholders and task owners to keep plans current, unblock decisions, and drive timely delivery-asking probing, context-aware questions to uncover gaps, risks, and success criteria.
• Establish operating rhythm and reporting: Set effective cadences (standups, milestone reviews, exec readouts), run meetings with clear agendas/outcomes, and produce decision-ready updates (critical path shifts, top risks/mitigations, dependency health, and clear asks).
• Organize incoming work: Build systems for request intake/triage, prioritization, and scheduling to protect the launch plan while handling emergent needs, with lightweight change control to separate launch-critical changes from post-launch work.
• Quality- and ops-focused delivery: Coordinate cross-team testing readiness, integration sequencing, data/cutover considerations, launch readiness checkpoints, training/SOP readiness, staffing constraints, phased rollout planning (as needed), hypercare metrics, and rollback/contingency planning.
Requirements:
• 6+ years in Technical Project/Program Management with demonstrated success delivering complex, multi-year, multi-organization, timeline-critical programs.
• Proven ability to build and manage high-detail integrated plans and drive execution across teams with competing priorities.
• Strong technical fluency: able to understand architectures and integrations well enough to challenge assumptions and manage dependencies without being the engineer; able to speak fluently and unscripted about prior system integration work (interfaces, sequencing, testing strategy, cutover considerations).
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills-able to earn trust, influence without authority, and drive clarity in ambiguity, including escalation management.
• Expertise with common tooling (e.g., Jira/Confluence, Smartsheet/MS Project, Google Suite) and disciplined operating mechanisms (RAID, critical path management, change control). Tools are table-stakes; execution depth and operational judgment are the differentiators.
Nice to have: Supply chain, warehouse fulfillment, or WMS domain experience; experience launching systems in operational environments (distribution centers, fulfillment operations) with phased rollouts and hypercare support.
