Full Job Description
Your Impact at LILA

Lila's Robotics team builds the autonomous robotic systems that power scientific experimentation across the company. The team's scope spans hardware, controls, software, and AI integration, with growing cross-department collaboration as the platform matures.

We're hiring a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to help keep that work organized, on schedule, and clearly communicated. You'll support engineers and partner teams by tracking projects, surfacing risks, keeping documentation current, and helping the team operate with clarity as the work scales. You'll grow into broader program ownership as you build context. The right candidate is organized, comfortable working across functions, and curious about how robotics, AI, and hardware come together.

What You'll Be Building
  • Coordinate day-to-day execution of cross-functional projects within Robotics and collaborations with other Lila departments, tracking milestones, dependencies, and risks.
  • Maintain clear project documentation, status updates, and meeting notes so engineers and partner teams stay aligned.
  • Support the planning and kickoff of new workstreams, defining scope, timelines, and deliverables alongside team leads.
  • Surface blockers early and help drive them to resolution across hardware, software, AI, and integration partners.
  • Improve standard practices for project intake, prioritization, and handoffs as the Robotics portfolio scales.
  • Communicate program status to Robotics leadership and cross-department stakeholders in clear, accurate, decision-ready summaries.

What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of cross-department program coordination, project management, or technical operations experience.
  • Experience working on advanced robotics programs (autonomous systems, manipulation, mobile robotics, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and keep them on schedule.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; produces clear status updates, notes, and documentation without prompting.
  • Comfortable working across functions with engineers, scientists, and other technical contributors.
  • Genuine curiosity about how robotics, AI, and hardware-software integration come together.

Bonus Points For
  • Prior exposure to robotics, hardware, or other physical engineering programs in industry or academia.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and a habit of using them well.
  • Experience supporting programs with technical handoffs between hardware, software, and controls teams.
  • Working knowledge of robotics, AI/ML, or controls systems.
