Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications:

The Fiber Infrastructure Engineering and Delivery Team is a unified organization within Google Global Infrastructure, integrating the expertise of Capacity Infrastructure Engineering, Network Infrastructure Engineering and Fiber and Capacity Delivery.

As a member of the Fiber Capacity Delivery, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management. You will facilitate and manage the post-sale delivery of new services from third-party suppliers and vendors, covering the full spectrum of physical network infrastructure from external pathways to in-building facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Review, interpret, and validate Fiber designs and engineering plans, including fiber routing, conduit infrastructure, splice schematics, rack layouts, and points of interface.
  • Oversee testing and construction and installation activities, ensuring work is performed to Google standards, industry best practices, and in compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary vendor contact, managing performance, schedules, and issue resolution. Escalate up vendor management chains as necessary if delivery timelines are at risk.
  • Test and remediate network fiber assets on both long haul optical transport routes and within metro footprints, encompassing all fiber delivery components.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of fiber delivery assets and attributes in Google's network inventory systems, and manage vendor handover documentation, test results, and technical drawings.
