Title:

Technical Professional - HVAC / Mechanical Engineer

KBR is looking for a Technical Professional - HVAC / Mechanical Engineer to contribute to a broad range of engineering and project execution activities while developing technical expertise within KBR's Mechanical Engineering organization.

This position offers the opportunity to support projects across diverse industries, including biofuels, alternative energy, specialty chemicals, manufacturing, and industrial processing. You will gain exposure to multidisciplinary project environments, client-facing engineering activities, and industry-leading technologies through collaboration with strategic partners and global project teams.

Developmental and rotational assignments may be incorporated based on business needs and the individual's technical interests and career goals.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development, review, and quality assurance of HVAC engineering deliverables, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation in accordance with client requirements, applicable codes, and industry best practices.

  • Assist projects and discipline leads with engineering execution activities, including equipment lists, engineering databases, schedules, procurement support, and design coordination efforts.

  • Participate in all phases of project execution, including conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction support, and commissioning activities.

  • Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integration of mechanical systems and project objectives.

  • Support equipment procurement activities, including preparation of technical requisitions, vendor evaluations, bid reviews, and technical recommendations.

  • Participate in field visits, site assessments, and engineering surveys as required.

  • Contribute to special assignments and technical initiatives aligned with individual development goals and departmental needs.

  • Participate in department training programs, technical seminars, employee resource groups (ERGs), and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts and maintain compliance with applicable engineering standards, quality requirements, and company procedures.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

  • 3–7 years of engineering experience in EPC, industrial, chemical, biofuels, energy, manufacturing, or related industries.

  • Ability and willingness to obtain Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure within a reasonable timeframe.

  • Working knowledge of multidisciplinary engineering design and coordination.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in team environments and collaborate across engineering disciplines.

  • Willingness and ability to travel to client facilities as required.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting chemical, biofuels, or industrial manufacturing facilities.

  • Experience in project engineering, plant engineering, operations, maintenance, or reliability engineering.

  • Experience with HVAC systems design and equipment specification development.

  • Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to manage multiple priorities in a project environment.
