What you will do

Johnson Controls is seeking a Technical Product Support Specialist to join the Technical Services team supporting the Foam/Foam Hardware Business Unit. In this role, you will provide responsive technical support, accurate documentation, and practical field guidance that help internal teams, distributors, customers, and end users get the information they need.

This position serves as a subject matter resource for foam and foam hardware products. You will work across Technical Services, Field Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Quality Services to answer technical questions, support product application, prepare and review documentation, and help drive reliable outcomes in the field and in the office.

How you will do it
  • Prepare Bills of Materials for domestic and international distributors.
  • Respond to technical questions from distribution, field sales, customers, and end users with clear, timely, and professional guidance.
  • Consult with engineers, architects, and other technical professionals on product application and system-related matters.
  • Travel to customer sites to support on-site hazard analysis when required.
  • Represent Technical Services on technical committees and project teams.
  • Support Quality Services with warranty claims and technical investigations.
  • Monitor applicable industry codes and standards, including NFPA, and help guide product compliance discussions.
  • Review technical literature, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documents for accuracy before release to the field.
  • Develop, review, and coordinate technical documentation that supports field sales, custom products, and standard products.
  • Assist with training for Technical Service and Training teams and support customer visits, including factory tours, as needed.
  • Work with Field Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Customer Service to resolve order issues and product application questions.
  • Provide technical direction to engineers, drafters, or technicians on specific assignments and contribute to team efforts as needed.
  • You will own your work with accountability, safety, and integrity by validating technical information carefully and standing behind the guidance you provide.
  • You will stay close to the work by partnering with field teams, customers, and distributors to remove obstacles and deliver practical solutions quickly.
  • You will improve every day by bringing candor to technical questions, learning from issues, and using problem-solving to strengthen products and processes.
  • You will win as one team by collaborating across Technical Services, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, and Quality Services.
  • Use sound technical judgment when preparing BOMs, reviewing drawings, and checking documentation before release.
  • Keep communication clear, concise, and customer-focused when supporting a range of technical requests.
  • Stay current on product updates, industry codes, and standards so your guidance remains accurate and dependable.


What we look for:

Required

  • Bachelor degree in Technology or Engineering or similar background through education or related experience.


Preferred

  • 0 - 5 years applicable experience


  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III in Special Hazard Systems or equivalent industry certification a plus


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications


HIRING SALARY RANGE: $72,000- 105,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
