Full Job Description
Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, recently voted #1 in the nation as the best large mortgage company to work for by National Mortgage News, is seeking a Technical Product Owner to join our team.

We're looking for someone who can operate at the intersection of product strategy, engineering execution, and financial services compliance. You'll embed directly with our engineering teams, working across a shared Linear workspace to translate borrower and business needs into actionable, well-scoped work. A meaningful part of this role touches our React Native mobile app, and strong mobile product instincts are essential.

What you'll be doing

Product Ownership

  • Owning features across the My Atlantic Bay borrower portal from discovery through launch, including payment flows, loan status, SSO handoffs, and communications features.
  • Writing clear, complete feature requirements - user stories, acceptance criteria, and edge case documentation - that engineering teams can act on without ambiguity.
  • Managing and prioritizing the product backlog in Linear, coordinating across multiple development teams with shared sprint cadences.
  • Assisting with sprint ceremonies (planning, review, retrospective) to keep delivery cadence healthy across teams.

Technical Collaboration

  • Partnering with engineering on API design, third-party vendor integrations (sub-servicers, Zoom, verification providers, AVM providers, and LOS platforms), and architecture decisions.
  • Evaluating and onboarding new developer tooling, including AI/MCP-capable platforms, and assessing vendor readiness for emerging standards.
  • Understanding and documenting integration patterns - OAuth2, webhooks, SAML/OIDC SSO, REST APIs - well enough to drive productive conversations with engineers and vendors.

AI & Innovation

  • Driving the roadmap for ABMG's embedded AI chatbot platform, including per-user OAuth/MCP token management, skills routing, and persistent memory architecture.
  • Working with R&D leadership to evaluate AI tooling (LLMs, MCP servers, Claude Code, etc.) for internal developer productivity and borrower-facing applications.
  • Tracking and promoting AI adoption across engineering teams - monitoring usage patterns, identifying gaps, and championing tools and workflows that make developers meaningfully faster.
  • Identifying and prototyping automation opportunities that reduce friction for loan officers and borrowers - from call summaries to document workflows.

Stakeholder & Operations

  • Translating business priorities from senior stakeholders into engineering-ready requirements without losing context or detail.
  • Maintaining visibility into team health across Linear - surfacing stalled projects, unassigned issues, and cycle bottlenecks before they become blockers.
  • Producing lightweight status reports, architecture writeups, and vendor evaluation documents for internal and leadership audiences.
  • Serving as a point of coordination between the Product Team and development teams (Aaron, Gustavo, Chen) on cross-cutting initiatives.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring

Required

  • 3-6 years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a technical PM or software product role
  • A background as a software developer or engineer is required - you should be able to read code, reason about architecture, and lead a productive conversation with engineers on technical tradeoffs
  • Demonstrated ability to write detailed, developer-ready product specifications - not just wireframes or high-level epics
  • Comfort reading API documentation, reviewing technical architecture diagrams, and engaging substantively with engineering teams on integration design
  • Experience managing a backlog and sprint workflow in a tool like Linear, Jira, or Asana - at scale, across multiple teams
  • Strong written communication; able to produce clear vendor escalation docs, architecture summaries, and executive briefings
  • Hands-on familiarity with mobile product development, particularly React Native - you understand the difference between a web release and a mobile release and can hold that context in requirements
  • Ability to prioritize ruthlessly and hold a product vision while staying grounded in day-to-day execution

Preferred

  • Experience in fintech, mortgage, banking, or a similarly regulated industry - familiarity with concepts like LOS, subservicing, MISMO, or PCI compliance is a plus
  • Familiarity with AI tooling, LLM APIs, or Model Context Protocol (MCP) in a product or integration context
  • Experience working with communication platforms (e.g. Zoom), identity providers, verification providers, AVM providers, or LOS platforms at the product level
  • Familiarity with React Native or hybrid mobile development - including iOS/Android release cycles, CocoaPods/Xcode toolchains, and Expo-based workflows
  • Exposure to Notion, Linear, or similar tools used for team operations beyond just issue tracking

Perks

Atlantic Bay offers a dynamic benefits package that includes a competitive base salary, eligibility for monthly bonuses, health insurance, 401(k), PTO, paid volunteer time and your birthday off with pay! Who doesn't love that!
