Position Overview

As a Senior Technical Product Manager in Vanguard’s Global Risk and Security (GR&S) division, you will play a pivotal role in enabling business strategy, safeguarding client and organizational assets and data while fostering a robust risk culture. Our teams leverage enterprise-wide insights, deep subject matter expertise, and trusted advisory capabilities to empower leaders across Vanguard to make informed, risk-aware decisions with agility and confidence. Within GR&S, the Enterprise Security and Fraud (ES&F) sub-division is dedicated to the comprehensive protection of Vanguard’s personnel, property, data, and client assets. Key Responsibilities

Technical Product Leadership

  • Translate strategic business objectives into actionable initiatives for engineering teams, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Articulate complex technical requirements in clear, concise language suitable for executive audiences and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability for product success, serving as the primary point of contact for all inquiries related to product features and functionality.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive product documentation, including product cards, roadmaps, feature and capability plans, as well as usage and operational metrics.
  • Apply both qualitative and quantitative analysis to drive continuous improvement in client experience and product performance.
  • Exhibit advanced problem-solving skills, proactively addressing challenges related to scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to product architecture and the design of technical solutions, fostering collaboration across teams and facilitating a shared understanding of business needs and technical constraints.
  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure that project intake and deliverables are consistently aligned with business priorities and key results (OKRs).
  • Establish strong partnership with peers and mentor others, promote best practices and elevate the discipline of product management across the organization.

Security Expertise

  • Possess foundational knowledge in key security domains, including Identity and Access Management, Cryptography, Vulnerability Assessment, and Risk Management.
  • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced proficiency in cloud-based infrastructure and services, with the ability to guide teams in implementing secure, scalable solutions.
  • Remain current on industry trends and the evolving threat landscape, driving teams to adopt proactive controls and robust fail-safes to mitigate risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, with at least two years leading large, cross-functional teams on major organizational initiatives.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in complex, fast-paced environments.
