Role DescriptionWith the gFiber team, you'll work on cross-product and cross-team initiatives, working closely with a cross-functional team to plan, execute, and deliver projects, as well as deploy new technologies to local markets and surrounding communities. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day operations, milestone tracking, and completion of projects related to the construction of our OSP FTTH network. You will be responsible for everything that happens downstream of Engineering/Permitting including pre-construction planning, construction execution/sequencing, and splicing/testing for project turnover and acceptance to downstream stakeholders.
In this role, you'll:- Quality Management - ensure projects are built according to approved engineering design plans, Google Fiber Standards & Spec, in adherence to current contract SOW's, and aligned with municipal expectations/requirements. Foster an open, transparent, and cross-discipline change management process when deviations are necessary during build execution.
- Project Management -manage project pipelines, budgets, scheduling, resource/activity planning, activity sequencing/prioritization, vendor performance tracking, project dependency awareness, financial reporting, invoice approval, and material management.
- Vendor Management - develop, manage, maintain, and drive the Vendor construction schedule as a partner. Ensures project milestones and delivery dates are aligned with business commitments and work mitigating solutions to risks that arise.
- Clearly communicate expectations and project status effectively/concisely. Work with internal/external stakeholders to ensure that projects are scoped properly and handed off seamlessly for network acceptance.
- Be able to work autonomously with minimal guidance and supervision. Be comfortable standing up a new program geographical area with limited onsite support.
- Comfortable with converting conceptual market deliverables to specific action steps and assigning roles & responsibilities to support Teams.
At a minimum, we would like you to have:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of Program/Project Management experience within large scope, capital intensive, technical scopes of work.
- 4 years of Vendor Management experience directly managing vendor resources, performance management, and accountability for project-based deliveries.
- 4 years experience scheduling projects, capital tracking/forecasting, reporting project status and costs versus commitments, and providing insights/ influence to commercial terms with contractors and vendors.
- Experience managing capital, operational and technical programs.
It's preferred that you have:- PMP, PgMP or other project management certification.
- 7 years of Project/Program Management experience.
- 7 years of experience in a Vendor Management role.
- Experience managing telecommunication infrastructure, Fiber to the Home/Plant (FTTx) operations and/or outside plant (OSP) projects.
- Demonstrated ability to employ quality troubleshooting skills and creative problem solving abilities under pressure.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $130,000 - $139,000 + bonus + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
