Full Job Description
Ibotta is seeking a TechnicalManager, Product Analytics to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. Managing a team of decision scientists, you'll champion data-driven decision making across the product lifecycle as a cross-functional partner for our Publishers, Clients, and Data & Measurement Product Areas. You and your team will inform product strategy through a "portfolio approach" to work, supporting Boulders (innovative product developments), Bets, and Business-as-Usual (BAU) initiatives. You will champion measurement and experimentation frameworks to validate product impact while leveraging our full analytics stack (Databricks, Airflow, GitHub, Python, Looker, Claude Enterprise, etc.) to mine insights from rich behavioral and transactional data sources for a large base of consumers across thousands of brands.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:
  • Manage and mentor a team of decision scientists, fostering their professional growth while ensuring high-quality execution across the Publishers, Clients, and Data & Measurement Product Areas.
  • Partner directly with Product Area leads to define, prioritize, and measure high-impact initiatives through our portfolio approach (Boulders, Bets, and BAU).
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of analytics projects, ensuring your team translates ambiguous business questions into structured analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Champion a culture of measurement and experimentation by coaching the team on best practices for KPI development, A/B test design, and statistical validation.
  • Guide the team in conducting deep dives on user journeys, funnels, and product features to surface testable hypotheses and optimization opportunities.
  • Utilize modeling and data mining to generate user segmentations and predictions that answer complex strategic questions.
  • Ensure statistical integrity in experimentation, including clear learning agendas, evaluation criteria, and guardrail metrics.
  • Deliver and present compelling data stories and visualizations to cross-functional stakeholders to build buy-in for product recommendations.
  • Manage the governance and monitoring of tracking events to maintain high data quality and reliability across our digital properties.
  • Increase team velocity by leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude Enterprise) and automating repeatable workflows to reduce time-to-insight.

What we are looking for:
  • 5-7 years of experience in Product Analytics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, etc. or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience directly managing, leading, and mentoring a team of high-performing individual contributors.
  • Expert-level SQL for large-scale data sets, proficiency in Python (preferred) or R for data manipulation and automation, hands-on experience with tools like Databricks, Airflow, GitHub, and Looker, and demonstrated AI fluency using tools like Claude Enterprise to accelerate development and analytical workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with measurement and instrumentation-including event tracking for consumer/client actions and designing robust KPI/North Star metric frameworks-paired with deep understanding of A/B testing methodologies (power analysis, significance testing, and interpreting complex results).
  • Ability to balance a portfolio approach across high-impact innovation, speculative bets on long-term strategic initiatives, and essential business-as-usual operations.
  • You are a 'player-coach' who enjoys getting into the technical weeds of a complex data problem while also guiding your team's professional growth.
  • You are curious and evidence-based in your analytical approach, always seeking the "why" behind the data.
  • You are a natural at communicating and collaborating with people of various technical proficiencies and leadership levels.

Additional Details:

  • Base compensation range: $124,000-$144,000. Equity is included in overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
