Job Title - Technical Manager

Reports To: Dir - Production Unit
What You Will Learn:The Technical Manager is a critical leadership role within the Production Unit. They provide technical leadership and operational guidance to mechanical and production teams, ensuring maximum equipment efficiency, productivity, and reliability. This role encompasses managing complex projects, offering expert diagnostic support, and fostering the continuous development of a highly skilled mechanical workforce. As a key technical resource, you will drive innovation, empower your team, and ensure seamless operations to meet and exceed performance goals.
- Champion Safety and Quality: Lead by example in fostering an interdependent safety culture, proactively driving the plant's mission of zero accidents. Support and advocate for the plant's Quality and Environmental initiatives.
- Inspire and Empower Teams: Lead and engage a team of Mechanics with respect and purpose, fostering collaboration, accountability, and full employee engagement. Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and implement performance management systems to drive continuous improvement and team growth.
- Maximize Operational Excellence: Partner with production management to provide direction and supervision to the mechanical workforce, ensuring optimal equipment performance, maximum uptime, and the highest quality standards.
- Breakdown Elimination: Lead efforts to analyze breakdown data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime and improve overall operational efficiency. This includes developing and implementing proactive maintenance strategies to prevent future breakdowns.
- Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Support: Provide leadership and support to Autonomous Maintenance (AM) initiatives, empowering production teams to take ownership of basic maintenance tasks and contribute to improved equipment performance and reliability.
- Stockroom Management: Oversee the efficient and effective management of maintenance stockrooms, ensuring optimal inventory levels, streamlines procurement processes, accurate record-keeping, and robust inventory control systems.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Build strong relationships across the plant and with external stakeholders, including Packaging Development, Product Development, Marketing, and Research & Innovation teams.
What We Are Looking For:Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with technical training, certifications, or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years' experience in a technical capacity involving packaging equipment and a solid technical experience in core mechanical, electrical, and automation controls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
