Full Job Description
We are looking for a Technical/Production Manager to work with a major oil and gas operator in Houma, LA, for an initial 1-year contract likely to be extended. No per diem is offered.

Primary Responsibilities:

Coordinating chemical product line activities for chemical products for Company's Oilfield Chemicals for North America including GOM, Alaska, and Mexico. Providing technical expertise for Oilfield Chemicals for North America for laboratory and field applications. This role would optimize the chemical selection process with the application process.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safe work practices to create a safe work culture
  • Provide updated chemical status for each region for current and future applications.
  • Provide technical advice for all types of chemistries. This includes laboratory testing, certifications, field applications, and trouble shooting.
  • Provide all support in meetings for each region for supplier, sourcing, correct applications for the area
  • Provide advisory role for financial efficiency for product line and technical support
  • Support the product development and research teams for new products selection and optimization for flow assurance, asset integrity, and production maximization
  • Provide technical support to the customer in meetings, documents, and application
  • Uncover new opportunities with existing and potential customers
  • Work with the local managers and field engineers to identify the best solution for treatments and provide data to support product recommendations at the customer level
  • Plan/manage time and resources for effective coverage of territory, communications and other responsibilities
  • Complete technical service documents for regional approval
  • Train employees and external customers on product applications and offshore activities
  • Willing to travel offshore from time to time for back up activities
  • Shares key learnings on new applications/treatments with the Upstream Chemicals team to foster replication
  • Report all new or unique pertinent market conditions, competitive activities, and product performance information to NA region
  • Manage local chemical approvals and documentation for a streamlined process


Skill Profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science related filed is preferred (Chemical Engineering, Geology, Biology, etc.) or a related discipline along with a minim

    um of 10+ years technical sales experience in relation to upstream chemicals and chemical treatment processes for the upstream O&G industry Candidates without a bachelor's degree, but with 15+ years of upstream technical chemical technical and product experience will be considered
  • Strong focus on asset integrity, flow assurance, and production optimization
  • Willing to travel to three regions for support
  • Experience in technical support activities with customers
  • In-depth knowledge of hydrocarbons extraction and production processes
  • In-depth knowledge of problems related to the use of chemicals in the oilfield sector, in particular for the O&G production sector both onshore and offshore
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable individual
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong people skills and ability to work with cross-functional team in Milan and America
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and accommodate changing circumstances
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking abilities and organizational skills
  • Willing to learn new technical skills and processes to improve company`s project


Communication Areas:

  • Bilingual, English, Spanish or Italian is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
  • Technical modeling a plus


Geographical mobility:

  • Availability for business trips abroad, Mexico, Alaska, and Gulf of Mexico. Ability to travel to the field/offshore at each location.
