Position Overview:
As part of the talented Customer Experience team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical training to Mercury Marine technicians, installers, government agencies, and internal Brunswick business partners. This role serves as a primary instructor for both in-person and virtual (distance learning) training and acts as a subject matter expert supporting Mercury University curriculum development. The instructor plays a key role in ensuring training content remains current with product enhancements and industry standards while maintaining day-to-day operations of the training center.
Essential Functions:
- Serve as a primary technical instructor and facilitator for Mercury Marine training programs.
- Deliver Outboard and MerCruiser product training in classroom and virtual environments.
- Develop and maintain seasonal classroom training schedules.
- Collaborate with the curriculum development team to revise and enhance existing training programs to align with product updates and advancements.
- Assist in the development of new course materials, laboratory exercises, and instructional content.
- Support the design of comprehensive training sequences across the entire product line.
- Prepare and deliver customized technical training programs to meet specific learner or business needs.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to technicians and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee daily operational activities of the training center.
- Track, manage, and maintain training center inventory, equipment, and instructional materials.
- Ensure training classrooms, labs, and products are updated to meet curriculum requirements.
- Coordinate the ordering of parts and equipment through the Team Lead as needed.
- Participate in Train-the-Trainer events, meetings, and professional development activities.
- Travel as required to support training initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint).
- Demonstrated critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to train, instruct, and engage adult learners effectively.
- Strong computer and technical software aptitude.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate closely with subject matter experts, internal teams, and external contributors to ensure training objectives are met.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Associate's degree in a related field plus a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with modern instructional technologies and adult learning methodologies.
- Understanding of current engineering practices and technical systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in training or related fields required; supervisory or project/task leadership experience preferred.
The anticipated pay range for this position is 73,600 - 106,200 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
