Full Job Description
The Interventional Urology Technical Fellow, Electrical Engineering is responsible for leading, defining, while having a large breadth of knowledge relating to functions and tasks required to develop medical devices. This role also has the responsibility of understanding the technical aspects of the product in its entirety. This role must champion ideas, make difficult decisions, and provide guidance to others so that they can develop a product that meets the design intent. As a Technical Fellow, this position plays in large part a mentoring role to the rest of the technical organization as it relates to the overall product features, requirements, and issue resolution.

Major Areas of Accountability
  • Technical Leadership
    • Work highly independently in alignment with business objectives for current and future generations of implantable products
    • Drive the definition and development of complex electrical hardware architectures for new and existing products.
    • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas related to EMC, Safety testing, and 60601 standards.
    • Thorough understanding of FDA standards and expectations.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, technical rigor, and quality compliance.
    • Generate new intellectual property in accordance with departmental strategic objectives.
    • Consult and advise on the applicability and acquisition of inorganic opportunities for required technologies or products
    • Provide leadership, coaching, and training to other employees within job area.
    • Routinely demonstrate strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical Oversight
    • Lead the definition of system-level electrical requirements and drive translation into lower-level hardware and subsystem requirements.
    • Experience in analog/digital circuit design techniques for low power or implantable applications.
    • Deep expertise to guide component selection, circuit topology, power distribution, signal integrity, and embedded hardware integration.
    • Own and shape long-term technology strategy by identifying architectural improvements, platform reuse opportunities, and scalable design approaches.
  • Project & Process Management
    • Support the product lifecycle from concept through verification, validation, transfer to manufacturing, and post-market support.
    • Ensure rigorous risk management practices, including hazard analysis and FMEA, are applied to all designs.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement
    • Establish and advocate for best practices and continuous improvement to mature Electrical Engineering knowledge and processes.
    • Collaborate with all functions within R&D, and across the organization to ensure program success.
    • Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware issues throughout development, verification, and sustaining phases.

Basic Qualifications

    • Competitive Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $125,951 - $203,000 Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses and/or incentives.
