Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Metrology Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the MB-DMI team and provide technical leadership in the development of advanced measurement solutions.
  • Define metrology validation strategies for new technologies, inspection methods, and applications developed by the team.
  • Lead the development, validation, approval, and industrialization of advanced metrology solutions to ensure they are robust and ready for production deployment.
  • Plan, execute, and interpret correlation studies, Measurement System Analysis (MSA/GR&R), Gauge Studies (GSTI), measurement uncertainty analyses, and qualification and certification activities for measurement systems.
  • Establish metrology performance criteria and recommend improvements to ensure reliable and capable measurement systems.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, MTE, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to develop and deploy new technologies.
  • Support the development of Model-Based Definition (MBD) inspection methods and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Contribute to manufacturing and inspection process validation strategies, including process mapping and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Monitor emerging technologies and recommend new approaches that improve manufacturing and inspection performance.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in industrial metrology, quality, or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of metrology principles, including:
    • Measurement System Analysis (MSA/GR&R)
    • Measurement uncertainty analysis
    • Correlation studies between measurement systems
    • Measurement system capability analysis
  • Significant experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), 3D scanning technologies, and Computed Tomography (CT).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and its application in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing, validating, or industrializing new manufacturing or inspection methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical challenges using a structured, data-driven approach.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and influence technical stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, technical presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to translate metrology principles into robust, scalable production solutions.
  • Passion for innovation and the ability to thrive in an environment where technologies are continuously evolving and maturing.
  • Bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

Advanced Metrology, Inspection & Model-Based Enterprise
  • Experience with automated or robotic inspection systems.
  • Knowledge of the Quality Information Framework (QIF) standard.
  • Experience with CATIA FT&A (Functional Tolerancing & Annotation) and other Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) formats.

Digital Manufacturing & Software
  • Experience with PolyWorks.
  • Experience with ZEISS INSPECT / GOM Inspect.
  • Experience with MBDVidia.
  • Experience with Net-Inspect.
  • Experience with CATIA V5.
  • Experience with ENOVIA V6 (PLM).
  • Experience developing scripts or automation tools using Python.

Manufacturing & Quality
  • Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD) and Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) product definition processes.
  • Experience preparing or approving First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with AS9102.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with process mapping and process optimization methodologies.
  • Knowledge of statistical quality tools, including SPC, Design of Experiments (DOE), and capability analysis.
  • Experience working in the aerospace industry or another highly regulated environment (AS9100, NADCAP, ISO 17025).

Technical Leadership
  • Experience serving as a technical expert or subject matter expert within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience supporting organizational change and the deployment of new technologies into production.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish technical standards, develop best practices, and mentor technical teams.
