Job Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced Technical/Equipment Specialist to support the development and sustainment of technical documentation for U.S. Marine Corps Command, Control, Communications, and Weapons Systems. This position supports the integration of engineering data into technical publications, and maintenance products used to support the lifecycle sustainment of military systems.

The successful candidate will work directly with engineers, logisticians, and subject matter experts to develop technical manuals and provisioning documentation that accurately reflect system design, configuration, and maintenance requirements. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of Marine Corps maintenance concepts and can transform complex engineering information into clear, concise documentation for operators and maintainers.

Responsibilities:
  • Read, interpret, and analyze engineering drawings, technical data packages, and engineering source documentation.
  • Integrate engineering drawings, network design documentation, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs) into technical manuals and maintenance documentation.
  • Translate complex engineering and system design concepts into clear, accurate, and easy-to-understand technical instructions.
  • Evaluate system architecture, functionality, and concept of employment to determine maintenance requirements and develop appropriate maintenance procedures.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) for principal end items in accordance with GEA-006 standards and U.S. Marine Corps provisioning requirements.
  • Support the development, review, and update of technical manuals, maintenance procedures, provisioning documentation, and associated logistics products.
  • Coordinate with engineering, logistics, and configuration management personnel to ensure documentation accurately reflects approved system configurations and engineering changes.
  • Review technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, technical adequacy, and compliance with applicable government and program requirements.
  • Support provisioning, lifecycle sustainment, and Integrated Product Support (IPS) activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of program objectives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience; additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.


Required Qualifications:
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience supporting U.S. Marine Corps weapon systems as an Equipment Specialist or equivalent.
  • Prior service in the U.S. Marine Corps with experience in the 28XX (Ground Electronics Maintenance) or 59XX (Electronics Maintenance) occupational fields.
  • Experience supporting technical manual development, provisioning, logistics, configuration management, or Integrated Product Support (IPS).
  • Experience supporting engineering change implementation and technical data package development. Examples:SL-3, SL-4, SI, TI, MI.
  • Experience supporting Marine Corps acquisition or sustainment programs, including command and control or communications systems.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of formal professional or technical writing courses.


The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with practical military maintenance experience. They understand how systems are engineered, how Marines employ those systems in the field, and what information maintainers need to effectively sustain them. They are capable of independently analyzing engineering source data, identifying maintenance requirements, and producing accurate technical documentation that supports readiness across the system lifecycle.
