Overview

Who We Are Seeking

We are looking for a Technical Director to spearhead our development efforts at LFL. While you will remain hands-on in the codebase, your primary focus will be providing technical vision, mentoring a team of developers, and ensuring the architectural integrity of our systems. You will serve as the bridge between business objectives and technical execution, collaborating closely with product managers and stakeholders to turn complex requirements into scalable, high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do
  • Act as the final authority for technical decisions, managing the balance between rapid delivery and long-term technical health
  • Architect end-to-end solutions, documenting technical requirements and selecting the appropriate technology stacks to meet business goals
  • Lead technical projects from initial estimation and discovery through to final deployment and maintenance
  • Actively mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering skill-sharing and maintaining high standards for code quality and unit testing
  • Directly interact with clients and product owners to provide recommended approaches, feasibility assessments, and technical roadmaps

Qualifications

  • Practical experience in Scrum or Kanban project leadership
  • Experience with Protobufs, PubSub, or other non-REST communication platforms (gRPC, RPC)
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience


Compensation

The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $210,000 and applies only to jobs performed in Culver City, California. This range represents the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Please note that we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employees position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
