Job Description

Position Overview

This position provides project management and technical leadership of environmental investigation and remediation projects, as well as assists in the development of technical staff to meet client and organizational needs.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Holds professional certification as applicable (P.E./P.G./LSP/LSRP/CIH/CSP, etc.), and functions as licensed professional in responsible charge for disciplines requiring professional licensure to practice.
  • Proficient in performing senior level interpretation work including remedial cost estimates, future remedial measures selection, and costing.
  • Advanced experience within one's discipline such as performing conceptual and detailed remedial design work as an engineer or designing and managing site/remedial Investigation activities and performing hydrogeologic interpretation and development of conceptual site models as a geologist.
  • Advanced project management skills.
  • Advanced data evaluation and analytical skills.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in interacting with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to generate annual net revenue exceeding $150K per year at 20%+ profit.
  • Ability and willingness to support the technical growth of more junior level professionals based on direct hands-on interactions.
  • Maintains acceptable personal professional fees billed.


Essential Duties

Project Management:
  • Manage projects including key responsibilities for scheduling and coordination of project resources to meet client and organizational needs.
  • Ensure that individual task schedules, budgets, and client invoicing are performed in accordance with Company standards and client requirements to complete project work.

Technical Data Review and Report Preparation:
  • Coordinate the data collection and review of project results, including the reduction of field data to evaluate and determine future client needs and project requirements.
  • Interpret data, develop, and finalize a report for Project Principal's review that appropriately documents findings and project remediation recommendations.

Proposal Preparation and Business Development:
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and with marketing activities.

Staff Mentoring and Training:
  • Participate in the development of junior staff and work with senior management to continue to grow as a consultant and leader of the firm.


Physical Demands/Work Environment Conditions

This position may occasionally work in the field, and predominantly works in an office environment. Leads a field team at exterior project sites (i.e., industrial/brownfield facilities, monitoring wells, treatment systems, construction projects) generally to perform sample collection, recording of operational/meter parameters, and oversight of subcontractors (e.g., drillers, heavy equipment operators, truckers). These field activities require the ability to drive to different project sites and physically move around outdoors in various terrains, and occasionally in adverse weather conditions. Office work is primarily stationary/sedentary using a computer and keyboard/mouse requiring repetitive hand movements.

Base Salary Range: $165,000 - $190,000. This salary range is based on what Roux in good faith believes it might pay at the time of posting for this position and for this geographic location. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as relevant work experience, amount of revenue candidate is able to generate, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity. In addition, this position is eligible for annual performance bonuses and stock purchase plan based on individual job performance, individual revenue and profit generated, and the profitability of the firm.
