About the Job The Technical Director of Ground Systems operates at the intersection of engineering and product deployment to our customers and end users. It requires a combination of high technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal skills. As the internal-facing spokesperson for our customers, you will be responsible for ensuring our products and services fully meet customer requirements and capability needs. As the external-facing technical spokesperson for our products and services, you will advise our customers on the application or our solutions and ensure seamless integration into customer products and workflows.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesMarket & Customer Strategy - Lead technical engagements with Government and prime contractor customers to understand their requirements and expectations
- Support the customer in identification, planning, and management of their capability initiatives
- Gain insight into future needs and scope growth opportunities
- Serve as the company's subject matter expert in US Army Ground Systems technical and operational domains, analyzing and summarizing mission needs across platforms
- Support determination of product market position within the defense and national security sector, informing development of the product roadmap
Pursuit & Capture - Support the Growth organization in developing opportunity pipelines and capture strategies for specific pursuits
- Develop and describe design approaches that can aid customer missions
- Advise customers and business partners on the application of Parry Labs offerings to meet their emerging needs
- Develop SOW/PWS requirements and corresponding technical estimates that are executable within product and organizational capabilities
Product Design & Roadmap Alignment - Guide solution design based on original design approach, refined for project constraints
- Support alignment of engineering, product management, growth, and delivery where conflicting
- Balance meeting tailored customer needs while managing a common product baseline
- Ensure technical approaches across programs and products align with customer requirements and expectations
Product Development, Delivery, & Deployment - Develop a delivery strategy aligned with customer feature set and timeline needs
- Oversee project-specific customization of products to meet customer tailored needs
- Maintain disciplined product governance through enforcement of organizational standards and other applicable engineering directives, policies, processes, and procedures
- Support integration of our products into the customer's environment, providing onsite technical guidance and troubleshooting
- Support Technical Project Managers in identification, assessment, and mitigation of technical risks
- Review, advise, and approve technical work products
- Champion actions and initiatives that improve customer satisfaction
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or another related STEM field
- 10+ years of experience in the tech industry
- Basic understanding of government procurement environments
- Experience integrating hardware and software systems in lab and field test environments
- Experience collecting requirements and developing work estimates for proposals and projects
- Proficiency in relevant software tools: requirement analysis tools, CI/CD pipelines, Agile management tools, and test management tools
- Understanding of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles
- Expertise in hardware/software abstraction layers (HALs) and interface control documents (ICDs)
- Experience developing and integrating Command and Control (C2) systems across air and ground RAS platforms
- Familiarity with control interface standards (e.g., MIL-STD-1472H for UI/UX)
- Working knowledge of cross-platform C2 implementation (e.g., Android 14 / Ubuntu 22.04)
- Ability to support multi-asset control, including UxS, payloads, and video feeds
- Knowledge of autonomy behavior management, handoff protocols, and assisted teleoperation
- Familiarity with RVMS, ASIL-D equivalent safety systems, and command arbitration logic
- Background in certification strategies for modular safety software (MIL-STD-882E, LOR-1)
- Experience deploying modular software to edge compute environments (e.g., M2C2, ARM/GPU SBCs)
- Proficient with container orchestration, DevSecOps pipelines, and open-source hypervisors
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and government-secured OS baselines
- Hands-on experience integrating with TAK, NGC2, MMC, and other Army C2 nodes
- Deep knowledge of VMF, CoT, and MIL-STD-2525-D symbology
- Understanding of MPMS (Mission Planning and Management Systems) and collaborative COP management
- Skilled in incremental software delivery aligned with government-defined drops (e.g., MVP, Code Lock, 0.9)
- Leadership in establishing architecture baselines, conducting design reviews, and managing interface compliance
- Familiarity with RMF, ATO, Fortify, and FIPS 140-3 cybersecurity requirements
- Prior experience with Army/RCCTO, Navy PMS-401, or USMC C2 modernization programs
- US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
