Overview

BRMi is seeking a Technical Data Steward to support a large finaincial enterprise client. 

 

The Technical Data Steward is responsible for the technical data management, governance, integrity and quality of Human Resources data assets for the HR Data Warehouse (Azure) and its platforms. This role ensures that data is properly defined, secured, governed, and usable across systems by partnering with HR business stewards, HR Data Analytics team, engineering teams, and stakeholders.Provide technical data stewardship support to the HR Data Analytics team in managing, governing, and optimizing HR data assets. This role ensures data is accurate, secure, and aligned with enterprise data governance standards to support analytics, reporting, and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

1. Data Governance & StandardsImplement and enforce enterprise data governance policies, standards, and proceduresEnsure execution of governance workstreams, including:Metadata managementEnterprise quality controlsAI ready metadataData qualityData lifecycle managementPolicies and standards complianceMonitor adherence to technical data standards and drive compliance across the business area

2. Data Management & Technical OversightOwn technical data decisions on behalf of the Business Data OwnerProvide subject matter expertise on:Source systemsData stores and warehousesETL processes and pipelinesBusiness intelligence toolsEnsure proper implementation of data across systems and platforms

3. Metadata, Lineage & CatalogingBuild and maintain a data catalog, including metadata and business glossaryEnsure data definitions, rules, and standards are clearly documented and consistently appliedCapture and maintain data lineage (end-to-end technical flows

4. Data Quality & Issue ResolutionDrive root cause analysis of data quality issues and coordinate resolution with Enterprise data and HR Analytics teamsAssist in design and implementation data quality audits, controls, and monitoring toolsPlan and lead data cleansing and remediation initiatives

5. Security & Risk ManagementPartner with Information Security, HR Data Governance and HR Data teams to implement controls such as:Role-based access (RBAC)Persona based accessRow level accessEncryption and data protection standardsEnsure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability across platforms

6. Stakeholder CollaborationPartner with:Business Data StewardsData OwnersData Engineering / IT teamsTranslate business requirements into technical data solutionsCommunicate impacts of data decisions across stakeholder groups
