We are seeking a professional like you to join our team and support the day-to-day procurement activities for the assignedcategory mix and locations. In this role, you will support your assigned sites and businesses with their procurement needs and will act as a first point ofcontact for the sites while coordinating within Procurement. You will routinely engage with the associated business units andsuppliers to align supplier capabilities with BASF strategic priorities and explore creative and strategic supply solutions for newand existing technical materials and services. You will also support the North American region in the development of categorystrategies, providing regional input related to supply and demand market dynamics. Additionally, you will run reports in SAP andwork with Master Data, performing analysis and data management.
You will be responsible for a significant amount of spend and multiple sites. You will provide a strong voice of procurement toboth the site leadership team and business leaders who depend on the sites that you support. You will have a high level ofautonomy and will need to proactively align internally within procurement and your supervisor to ensure effectiveness and strategic alignment.
Come create chemistry with us!As a Technical Buyer, you create chemistry by...- Leading and managing the sourcing process (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for key contracts and complex negotiations toensure the most competitive supply advantage for BASF.
- Providing relationship management for key suppliers, which will include monitoring performance metrics, resolvingclaims and/or disputes, market intelligence, and other contributing factors affecting supply availability and pricing ofproducts procured.
- Conducting market intelligence research by interacting with key suppliers, industry associations, and internalstakeholders to collect industry relevant information and rationalizing to assess impact current and future to BASF.
- Supporting the development of supply strategies for the North American region, you will work closely with the sitesand the Procurement Category Management to develop and implement sourcing strategies for products related tothis portfolio.
- Successfully engaging across the organization, you will work with all areas of BASF (Operations, Engineering,Accounting, EHS, Tax, etc.) and all levels of BASF, both global and regional.
- Working with a wide range of suppliers and multiple levels within the supplier's organization to meet the needs of BASF.
If you have...- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Supply Chain, Business or a related field combined.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering/Operations and/or Sales and Marketing.
- Skills in contract negotiation.
- Proficiency in market knowledge.
- Being team-oriented and capable of working in a multi-task environment will be a valued asset as you support thepurchase order creation and processing as appropriate.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time in the role.
