We are seeking a Technical Applications Specialist to drive technical application development and support business growth, for our Industrial, Process & Emissions (IP&E) market segment across Texas and the surrounding region.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing role that combines technical expertise, commercial support, application development, and team capability building.
You will work closely with customers, sales teams, business leaders and product specialists to develop innovative solutions that address real-world industrial, process and emissions challenges.
What You'll Do- Drive application development and identify opportunities for revenue growth across the IP&E business.
- Develop and enhance the regional capabilities of the Technical Applications team.
- Own regional application and technical enquiries, ensuring a high level of customer support.
- Key interfaces with: Product Applications Specialists, Sales, Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Channel Partners, Distributors, Marketing, Customers, End Users, Service & Systems teams.
- Participate in customer visits, major project pursuits, technical reviews and commercial opportunities as the technical expert.
- Act as the voice of the customer, identifying market needs and communicating opportunities for product and application development.
- Lead regional customer testing, validation activities, field trials and Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives.
- Manage Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), special analyzer configurations and demonstration equipment.
- Deliver technical training and knowledge transfer to customers, partners and internal teams.
- Support exhibitions, trade shows, conferences and industry events.
- Drive continuous improvement of application processes, procedures and service delivery.
- Support Service and Systems teams on complex application challenges when required.
- Take ownership of regional service level agreements (SLAs), targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
What We're Looking ForYou will bring a strong background in
gas analysis, combined with a passion for solving customer challenges and developing technical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of spectroscopic measurement technologies and analyzers that employ this measurement principle is highly desirable for this opportunity.
- Demonstrable experience in applications engineering, technical support or business development within the gas analysis or process instrumentation industry.
- Proven experience working with gas analyzers and applications within industrial, process or emissions markets.
- Strong understanding of industrial processes and customer applications.
- Excellent customer-facing and relationship management skills.
- Experience supporting sales opportunities through technical consultation and solution development.
- Ability to deliver technical presentations and training to a range of audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- All-round proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP and Salesforce.
Desirable Experience:- Experience working within the hydrocarbon processing, petrochemical, refining or chemical industries.
- Testing skills; designing, implementing and reporting on verification/validation testing
QualificationsEssential- Degree (or equivalent) in Physics, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
Location: Sugar Land, TX facility (with flexibility for regular travel across Houston/Texas) and on occasion to other US locations
