Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Application Group (TAG) Specialist supports product innovation and renovation through a structured, above-market technical framework. This role collaborates cross-functionally to improve existing products, address manufacturing issues, evaluate new technologies and ingredients, identify cost savings, and maintain external partnerships.

The Specialist contributes to formulation and process improvements, supports development of nutritional supplements across formats, and ensures effective execution of manufacturing and innovation initiatives within the business.

This will be a fully onsite role in our Leonia, NJ location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • BOM Creation/Maintenance: Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the manufacturing process.
  • SAP Recipe Maintenance
  • MES Updates: Support team by handling Manufacturing Execution System (MES) imports, updates and reviews
  • Finished Product Shelf Life File Updates: Update and maintain records of finished product shelf life to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards, highlight any gaps discovered and work with team to fix, and review for potential shelf life extensions
  • Industrial Trial, FOC (First Order Confirmation), SOC (Second Order Confirmation) preparation and follow ups
  • Keeping Quality/Finished Product Assessments
  • Block Diagram/Process Flow Creation and Maintenance
  • Operations Support for Investigations/GSTD (Go See Think Do)
  • Daily factory operation support
  • NCE/TPM (Nestlé Continuous Excellence) Support for Operations
  • Support product and process renovation through formulation adjustments, reformulation efforts, and process improvements
  • Prepare, maintain, and ensure accuracy of manufacturing documentation (e.g., recipes, batch records, specifications, change controls, QMS, EQAs) while adhering to company policies, SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze and interpret data to support statistical evaluations, problem-solving, and continuous process improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Quality, Procurement, R&D, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) to resolve product, raw material, and supply-related issues
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and changes to management in a timely manner
  • Support scale-up, validation, and technology transfer activities to internal and external manufacturing partners
  • Engage with suppliers, external partners, and training opportunities to stay current on industry trends and best practices
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while building strong cross-functional relationships and enhancing team efficiency


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Food Science or related field
  • 1+ year of hands-on product development, formulation, and manufacturing experience involving solid dose ( tablets,capsules, powders, and other solid dosage forms)
  • Knowledge of product development, technical and manufacturing processes, and food science principles
  • Experience leading medium-complexity technical projects and working effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Previous manufacturing or factory experience, preferred
  • Preferred experience with product scale-up, validation, and technology transfer activities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications ( Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Preferred experience with SAP, SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) and/or Minitab for data management, reporting, statistical analysis, and process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to be exposed to food allergens and allergen-containing materials
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%

    The approximate pay range for this position is $75,000- $100,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
