Full Job Description
Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Technical and Oversight Specialist opportunity in Richland, WA for the DOE Hanford Field Office.

Position Overview:

The Technical and Oversight Specialist will provide project controls support services in support of Tank Waste Mission and Business Operations. Support will be provided in the following areas:

  • Conduct oversight and event follow-up, as needed, of the AMTWO Tank Waste contractor to include operations, installation of equipment, construction, radiological controls, environmental, safety, and health aspects and regulatory compliance, as assigned by the TM.
  • Support implementation of organizational strategies and work closely with AMTWO line management to ensure oversight is properly planned and executed to support safe and compliant nuclear operations.
  • Mentor HFO staff and management in activities related to conduct of operations, including radiological controls, environmental, safety, and health aspects and regulatory compliance.
  • Brief AMTWO line management on oversight results, technical issues, options for resolution, and facilitate decision making.
  • Provide input to support contractor performance evaluation, including Performance Evaluation and Measurement Plan, quarterly data calls, and Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System evaluations.
  • Produce assessments and reports on a periodic basis. Document and review oversight results using the Integrated Contract Assurance (iCAS) database.
  • Coordinate oversight with multiple organizations and disciplines to ensure the necessary interfaces are in place to ensure safe, compliant operations for AMTWO related operations.
  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings, as required.
  • Participation in Integrated Project Teams, as required.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education - BS/BA degree in Engineering or Physical Science,
  • At least 10 years of experience in contractor oversight.
  • At least 10 years of experience in maintenance and work control management.
  • Experience with researching and navigating complex federal regulations to determine requirements bases for contractor performance attributes.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with performing TWO oversight activities on operations and performance of maintenance and work control support directly to HFO.
  • Proven track record of success in performing/communicating oversight in a technical environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the TWO project and prime contract.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Hanford Site mission, activities, and priorities.
  • In-depth knowledge of DOE Hanford processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in DOE's program management practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with, or ability to quickly learn and utilize, various technology management tools used at Hanford.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Expert-level Proficient in Microsoft 365, Word and Excel.

Work Location: Work shall be conducted at the Hanford Field Office and the Hanford Site in Richland, WA with eligibility for situational telework at the discretion of management.

Compensation:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience and may range between $120,000 and $215,000 annually.
