About This Role
RGP is looking for a Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting Manager to be the go-to expert for complex accounting questions and a key contributor to our external reporting cycle. You'll review customer contracts for ASC 606 implications, maintain our revenue recognition and CECL policies, and translate evolving accounting guidance into clear, well-documented positions. Partnering closely with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and our external auditors, you'll help draft and review our 10-Q and 10-K filings and the technical memos that support them. If you enjoy turning ambiguous accounting issues into defensible, documented conclusions-and want real influence on how deals get structured-this role is for you.
Base Pay Range: $102,400 - $128,000
Other Compensation: Incentive Compensation
What You Will Work On
- Review customer and vendor contracts for ASC 606 (revenue recognition) implications, partnering with Sales and Legal on contract language to support proper accounting outcomes and sound deal structures.
- Maintain and enhance the Company's revenue recognition policies, supporting documentation, and the matrix of policies and procedures as products and arrangements evolve.
- Support oversight and periodic review of the CECL (current expected credit loss) policy, including assumptions, documentation, and refresh of the estimate.
- Research emerging technical accounting matters and new pronouncements; assess impact and memorialize conclusions in clear, audit-ready position papers and technical memos.
- Prepare and review portions of the quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K), including related disclosures, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Serve as a trusted resource to external auditors-preparing support, walking through significant judgments, and helping resolve review and audit comments on a timely basis.
- Educate finance and non-finance partners on technical accounting topics, and support SOX-compliant controls over the areas you own.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred (or active progress toward licensure).
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting with public-company or high-growth corporate experience.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting, with hands-on exposure to revenue recognition (ASC 606); familiarity with CECL (ASC 326) is a plus.
- Experience drafting or reviewing technical accounting memos and translating complex guidance into clear, documented positions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters to non-finance audiences.
- A collaborative, cross-functional mindset and comfort partnering with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and external auditors.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities against filing deadlines.
- Experience with reporting and ERP tools (e.g., Workiva, Workday, Oracle, or SAP) is a plus.
What You Can Expect
- An inspirational place for you to do your best work, be engaged in meaningful ways, and continually develop the skills, competencies and qualities that set our team apart.
- Compensation commensurate with your qualifications, experience, and other factors, including geographic location, market and operational factors.
- Total Rewards based on eligibility include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Professional Development Program, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays and Paid Sick Time (in geographies where legally required).
