About the Role

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is a senior post-sales role embedded within Spacelift's Strategic segment. You will work alongside a Strategic CSM and Account Executive to drive deep technical adoption, reduce integration risk, and help customers extract measurable business value from Spacelift's Infrastructure as Code platform. This is a high-visibility role with direct access to executive stakeholders and engineering leadership at some of Spacelift's most complex enterprise accounts.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with the Strategic CSM and AE to own the technical relationship for a book of high-ARR strategic accounts
  • Map customer business objectives to Spacelift product capabilities, and define clear, measurable adoption milestones
  • Proactively assess integration complexity and operational maturity to surface risk early and build mitigation plans that prevent churn
  • Lead technical discovery, architecture reviews, and health checks to ensure customers are getting full value from their investment
  • Design and deliver visually compelling business value reports and technical roadmaps for both engineering teams and executive leadership
  • Drive stakeholder alignment across customer organisations, translating technical requirements into business outcomes
  • Serve as the customer's internal advocate, working cross-functionally with Spacelift Product, Engineering, and Support to resolve escalations and influence the roadmap

What We're Looking For
  • 8+ years in a customer-facing technical role such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, DevOps Consultant, or Customer Success Architect
  • Familiarity with CI/CD platforms and GitOps workflows
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, Pulumi, or Ansible
  • Recognised certifications or demonstrated expertise in major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and developer platforms such as GitHub or GitLab
  • Experience supporting high-ARR enterprise accounts in regulated or complex industries, particularly banking and financial services, healthcare, or large-scale technology companies
  • Track record of presenting technical architecture and business value content to both engineering practitioners and C-suite decision-makers
  • Strong ability to understand and document business requirements, navigate stakeholder dynamics, and build consensus across large organisations
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment where processes are still being built

Nice to Have
  • Experience with policy-as-code frameworks (OPA, Sentinel) or configuration management at scale
  • Background in platform engineering, SRE, or DevSecOps
  • Prior experience in a TAM or Customer Success Architect role at a high-growth B2B SaaS company

What Success Looks Like
  • Customers in your book achieve their defined adoption milestones on schedule
  • Churn risk is identified and escalated early, with documented mitigation plans in place
  • Stakeholders at all levels trust you as a knowledgeable, reliable partner
  • Your accounts show measurable ROI from their Spacelift investment within 9 months
  • You contribute customer insights that directly influence Spacelift's product direction

Hiring Process

  • 45 minutes introductory video call with Chris Darmofal, Head of Solutions Engineering
  • Technical interview with Jubran Nassar, Solutions Engineering Tech Lead
  • Take-home exercise
  • Second Technical Interview with Joey Stout, Solution Architect
  • Final Interview with John Henry, VP of Sales
  • Reference check

What we offer

  • Medical, dental and vision plans for employees and any dependents.
