We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Operations Team Lead to join our Americas Business Operations team!

About the Role

As the Team Lead supporting the Treaty North America Operations team, you will play a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence, developing talent, and supporting business objectives across the Americas region. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, fostering employee engagement, maintaining strong governance and controls, and leading your team through change in a fast-paced hybrid work environment.

As an Operations Team Lead, you will:
  • Guide, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Translate strategic objectives into effective operational execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data, analytics, and performance insights.
  • Lead change and transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regional and global partners to align operating models and best practices.


Operational Leadership

  • Own and maintain a comprehensive understanding of your team's business portfolio, processes, and priorities.
  • Ensure strong execution of core Treaty operational processes across the deal lifecycle, with a focus on quality, controls, and compliance
  • Ensure consistent execution of global standards, processes, and roles across markets and lines of business.
  • Proactively prepare the team for peak renewal periods and changing market demands through effective demand and capacity planning.
  • Drive operational excellence through process improvement initiatives and strategic projects.


Risk, Governance & Controls

  • Maintain awareness of operational risks, RCSA controls, audit requirements, open issues, events, and remediation activities.
  • Promote a strong risk and control environment.


Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the team in leadership visits, town halls, regional calls, and business engagement activities.


People Leadership

  • Motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, documented feedback, performance management, succession planning, and career development support.


About the Team

This team will sit within the Business Operations North America department in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Reinsurance division.

You'll be joining a collaborative, high-ownership team that values strong partnerships, clear accountability, and a continuous-improvement mindset. We work end-to-end across functions and locations, bringing structure, curiosity, and a practical focus on simplifying processes and delivering great service to our stakeholders.

About You

You hold a strategic, solution-focused mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities! Your exceptional communication skills enable successful stakeholder management and employee engagement.

Must Have:

  • Proven leadership experience within operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and lead through change.
  • Strong understanding of operational controls, risk management, governance processes, and KPI management.
  • Experience providing coaching, performance feedback, talent development, and employee engagement leadership.
  • College degree preferred.


Nice to Have Experience In:

  • Reinsurance, insurance, claims, or client-facing operations environments.
  • Leading cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams.
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Leading employee engagement initiatives or organizational change programs.


Our company uses a hybrid work model requiring at least three days in the office each week, with the option to work onsite full-time if preferred. This position is not eligible for full-time telework and is not able to offer visa sponsorship.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $76,000 to $114,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
