Full Job Description
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Team Lead, Solutions Consulting role is a hands-on player-coach, which includes being the primary Solution Consultant in opportunities, managing and hiring Solutions Consultants, and building out our vertical in Braze's financial services, Americas division.

This role is an opportunity to expand on your people management and leadership skills while partnering with Braze's sales, marketing, security, and product teams. The role will draw upon your experience in Pre-sales Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Customer Success, and hone your people-management skills, all while demonstrating and practicing a high level of curiosity about all things tech. You will serve as a mentor to Solutions Consultants on your team.

This role requires travel of up to 50% at peak times and is based in our [Office] office.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Lead the team - You'll manage 2 Solutions Consultants to start. As the FinServ business grows, so does the team.
  • Coach your ICs through deal involvement, direct feedback, and regular career conversations
  • Set the bar for what good looks like - technically, strategically, and in front of customers
  • Be the escalation point when deals get complicated
  • Work with Sales and SC leadership on hiring and capacity as the business scales

Own deals - This is a player-coach role. You'll be directly involved in opportunities
  • Run pre-sales end-to-end on major accounts: discovery, solution design, demos, POVs, security reviews, exec presentations
  • Build credibility across the full FinServ buying team - Architecture, Engineering, Security, Compliance, Marketing Ops, and the C-suite
  • Position BrazeAI and advanced capabilities with buyers who have real technical depth and regulatory complexity
  • Pull in Product, Security, Professional Services, and partners when needed to get the deal done right

Build the Financial Services - Practice FinServ is a new territory for Braze. There's no playbook; you'll have a front seat at writing it.
  • Create the sales plays, discovery frameworks, and competitive positioning Braze uses in FinServ
  • Build the reusable assets the team needs: reference architectures, demo environments, security & compliance positioning, objection-handling guides, and talk tracks for banking, payments, insurance, and wealth management
  • Work directly with Sales, Marketing, and Product to define how we grow in this segment
  • Publish thought leadership - white papers, presentations, blog posts - that earn Braze credibility in the industry
WHO YOU ARE
  • People management experience, or a demonstrated track record of leading teams, mentoring ICs, and driving outcomes through others
  • Exceptional written and verbal communicator with strong executive presence and follow-through
  • Strategic problem solver who can break down ambiguous, cross-functional challenges into clear options, tradeoffs, and next steps
  • Comfortable operating autonomously and proactively; you spot gaps and build what is needed
  • Experience selling into enterprise accounts with sophisticated technical buying teams and rigorous evaluation processes, ideally in regulated industries
  • Domain knowledge in two or more of the following: AI, SaaS, Mobile, APIs, Marketing Automation, Marketing Analytics, Data and Architecture, Security and Compliance, or Programming (including HTML)
  • Known as a collaborative teammate and a force multiplier who raises the bar for those around you

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $121,100 and $165,900/year, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $183,000 and $237,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, this role qualifies for a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that you will own a piece of our company.
