Team Lead Full Stack Engineer

HOMEE is looking for a Team Lead Full Stack Engineer to continue to build and support our core platform and APIs. As Team Lead, you will be a key technical contributor, set technical direction for the software engineering team, and help make important architectural decisions. This position involves applying advanced critical thinking to resolve common issues encountered in the insurance claims servicing process as well as developing integrations with numerous technology partners and enterprise partners. We are looking for a highly reliable and very disciplined person who will remain committed to the progress of our team and our company and who wants to work with an AI native team to automate processes. Engineering Responsibilities:
  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions
  • Work with the product owners to determine specification requirements
  • Write maintainable, well-documented code with extensive test coverage
  • Recommend and perform software upgrades to optimize operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with other developers to design and optimize code
  • Build high-performance and scalable server-side technologies

Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small team of software engineers, setting technical direction, priorities, and delivery expectations
  • Own sprint planning, backlog grooming, and estimation with the product owners, keeping the team accountable to commitments
  • Run code reviews and set engineering standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and security
  • Mentor and coach engineers through 1:1s, growth plans, and regular performance feedback
  • Partner with hiring managers on recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new engineers
  • Remove blockers and escalate risks, and report team progress and delivery metrics to engineering leadership
  • Coordinate incident response and on-call rotation for services the team owns

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience shipping high-volume, scalable applications on a service-oriented architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL
  • Experience with TypeScript frameworks like React and VueJS
  • Experience with Node.js frameworks such as Fastify and NextJS
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL or Postgres
  • Experience with AWS; specifically, AWS Lambda
  • Thorough understanding of architectural patterns of large, high-scale web applications
  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks and experience in test authoring
  • Proven ability to self-manage but also work as part of a close-knit team using Agile development for tracking progress, issues, etc.
  • 2+ years leading a software engineering team as a team lead, tech lead, or engineering manager
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and running code reviews at scale
  • Track record of delivering multi-engineer projects on schedule in an Agile environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
