About the role
The Team Lead, ALM, as a fully proficient and seasoned professional, conducts advanced analysis of application, security, contract and order related meta data to support a robust software management process for Kinaxis (including financial, vendor, compliance, renewal, rationalization, and decommission and adoption processes).
The incumbent leads the ALM team and manages the Application Management, SaaS Management, License Management and Support Management business processes. This work often requires the Team Lead, ALM to have difficult conversations with business sponsors to rationalize continued or increased investment in software, to ensure we obtain the best value and adoption and to ensure we are not exposed to unnecessary compliance risk.
The Team Lead, ALM, collaborates with Senior Leaders within Corporate IT, business units and with specific stakeholders across the Kinaxis to contribute to and execute on the overall ALM Strategy.

What you will do
- Provide leadership, coaching, guidance, and development to a team of IT Application Analysts, in partnership with and under the guidance of senior leaders within Corporate IT.
- Engage with upstream and downstream stakeholders (including Purchasing, Legal, Security, ITBP, Portfolio Management) to ensure a robust software management practice for Kinaxis.
- Identify and mitigate risk as it relates to software management, cost management, compliance management, security and compliance risk management.
- Application Management: Establish and execute robust and reliable IT business processes in support of Application Management best practices including application inventory management (keeping application profiles current), risk mitigation (latest version, security incident logging, completed and up to date SRA, security gap remediation), compliance gap tracking and mitigation, use case documentation, software licensing reviews, usage and adoption rates, use case rationalization, application decommissioning (including documenting savings), and tracking accessibility compliance.
- Software Contract Renewals: Establish and execute robust and reliable IT business processes in support of software contract renewals to ensure a complete assessment of the need to renew is documented, that low usage software is not renewed or renewed at the right licensing levels,
- SaaS Management: Establish and execute robust and reliable IT business processes including leveraging automation and integrations to amplify the ALM teams ability to
- Support Management: Establish and execute robust and reliable IT business processes in support of support management including the insourcing of support from business units. This work requires an understanding of the business use cases, unique requirements and special needs of the business unit that supports software prior to repatriating support to Corporate IT.
What we are looking for
- Post-secondary education with a focus on Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressive business analysis or application lifecycle management experience.
- Experience delegating and directing the work of others; previous people leadership experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply sound judgement in situations that are ambiguous in nature.
- Critical thinker when faced with challenges and applies skills to work through complex issues that may require change in policy or practice.
- Highly adaptable and able to pivot based on prioritization and needs of the business; proactively solicits and delivers feedback to ensure alignment.
- Agile and resilient in managing multiple tasks and team members under tight timelines.
- Professionally skilled using clear, concise, advanced written and verbal communication; able to exercise influence to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ability to present information that will engage a diverse audience in an inspiring and impactful way.
- Experience managing a large portfolio of software, rationalizing software investments, gathering use cases and understanding business process needs, exposure to software contract and order forms, software renewals and compliance risk management
- Experience using SaaS Management Platforms (Zylo) and ticketing systems(ServiceNow) a plus
- Prior Business Analysis experience a plus
- An understanding of application management policies and guidelines including adoption, rationalization, cost management and license management
