Qualifications

• New Jersey DOE Certificate as Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities required.
• New Jersey DOE P-3 certificate (CE/CEAS or standard) required.
• Preferred experience working with Autistic individuals, along with knowledge of ABA and discrete trial techniques.
• Physical capacity to perform frequent bending and lifting; can lift/carry up to 25 lbs independently.
• Skill in motivating students within a positive and creative environment.
• Willing to undergo Crisis Management training.
• New Jersey residency anticipated within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities to promote learning and development.
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student.
• Utilize ABA and discrete trial methods for therapy and support.
• Maintain a structured and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with support staff, parents, and other educators to ensure comprehensive care.
• Conduct ongoing assessments to track student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Engage in professional development to enhance teaching practices.
