Job Duties: In this role you will direct the preparation, development, review and revision of legislation and develop the agency's position regarding legislative impact. You will act as a liaison for the department with legislative offices and other state agencies, developing critical relationships and building credibility. This position operates with minimal supervision, giving extensive latitude for use of initiative and independent judgement.

You have a deep understanding of legislative processes, regulatory frameworks and government operations, with the ability to analyze complex policies and interpret procedural requirements.
You possess strong networking skills to forge lasting trust with public officials, law enforcement and advocacy groups.
You are able to produce clear, concise writing and public speaking for crafting policy briefs and advocating positions.
You'd be a GREAT fit if: You are proficient in evaluating complex legal and regulatory documents and analyzing proposed bills to uncover strategic implications, risks, or improved opportunities.
You have a proven history working with government agencies, advocacy groups, corporate policy teams or legislative offices.
You have skill in translating complex data into clear messages for lawmakers and the public.
You demonstrate strong ethical judgement and high integrity when handling sensitive public safety concerns, legal inquiries and highimpact governmental matters.
You have experience with legislative tracking software and government information systems used to monitor bills, regulations and policy activities.
