Tax Senior
Our client has an immediate need for a Tax Senior. This is a remote direct hire opportunity.

Tax Senior Role
The Tax Senior will combine technical tax expertise with client relationship management and proactive tax planning responsibilities.
This position is heavily weighted toward tax review and client interaction. The Tax Senior will review complex individual and business returns, support higher level tax planning, mentor junior team members, and gradually take ownership of approximately 20 to 30 key client relationships.
Responsibilities include:
• Review individual and business tax returns prepared by other members of the tax team
• Prepare more complex returns as needed, including 1040, 1120S, 1065, and C Corporation returns
• Evaluate returns beyond technical accuracy by identifying inconsistencies, planning opportunities, and issues based on knowledge of the client
• Participate in and ultimately lead quarterly and semiannual client meetings
• Discuss tax returns, projections, planning strategies, and financial questions directly with business owners and other senior client contacts
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of assigned clients, including their businesses, tax position, bookkeeping status, previous planning discussions, and broader financial relationships
• Prepare agendas and identify important issues or opportunities before client meetings
• Present tax strategies and recommendations in a clear and approachable manner
• Review work performed by Tax Associates and junior team members
• Provide technical feedback, coaching, and support to developing tax professionals
• Research federal and state tax matters and independently work through potential solutions
• Assist clients with tax notices and taxing authority matters as needed
• Collaborate with leadership and other team members on complex client situations and planning opportunities
• Maintain current knowledge of changes in federal and state tax regulations
There is no formal sales or business development quota associated with the position. The focus is on client service, relationship ownership, and advisory support.

• Ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and approachable manner
• Strong initiative and ability to independently research questions and move work forward
