Full Job Description
A growing accounting and consulting firm, is seeking highly capable Tax Supervisor to join our team in a fully remote position. This is a tax generalist role with responsibility across both ASC 740 tax provision and tax compliance, with a stronger emphasis on technical ASC 740 concepts and financial reporting disclosure. We are looking for an experienced Senior or Supervisor who can independently manage engagements with minimal oversight.

Job Function:
  • Prepare and review ASC-740 tax provisions including:
    • Current and deferred tax calculations
    • Effective tax rate (ETR) reconciliation and analysis
    • Deferred tax asset and liability roll-forwards
    • Valuation allowance assessments, including evaluation of positive and negative evidence
  • Analyze and document temporary vs. permanent differences
  • Perform detailed deferred tax analysis including stock-based compensation, deferred tax accounting, true-ups and related ETR impact
  • Prepare audit-ready provision workpapers and respond to auditor requests
  • Identify and resolve technical issues impacting financial reporting (e.g., §163(j), state impacts, intercompany items)
  • Collaborate directly with auditors and client finance teams
  • Translate tax positions into clear financial reporting impact
  • Prepare and review federal, multi-state, and consolidated tax filings across complex, multi-entity structures, including: Forms 1120, 1065, 1120-S, and select 1040s
  • Handle foreign reporting components, including:
    • Preparation and review of Forms 5471 and related schedules
  • Support international calculations including GILTI and foreign considerations
  • Identify and implement tax adjustments and planning opportunities
  • Assist with pre-audit support, reconciliations, and workpaper preparation

    • GAAP financial reporting
  • Experience with:
    • Public companies, SPACs, or venture-backed organizations (required)
    • Quarterly and annual provision cycles
    • Financial statement audits
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and document tax positions
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including preparation and review of provision workpapers
  • Experience with CCH Axcess or similar tax software
  • Experience with CCH Engagement Essentials or similar interface
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, QuickBooks and AI Platforms
  • Possess outstanding project management, time management and analytical skills with an ability to prioritize
  • Strong attention to detail and organizing workflow to easily meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to multi-task and pivot as needed
