Job Summary The Senior Analyst will play a key role in supporting the evaluation, structuring, and placement of tax insurance policies for clients across North America. This position provides significant exposure to complex tax issues, transaction execution, client advisory work, and insurance markets.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical foundation, exceptional attention to detail, and an interest in tax, M&A, financial services, or transactional advisory. The Senior Analyst will work directly with senior brokers, insurers, attorneys, accountants, and clients throughout the lifecycle of a transaction.
Key Responsibilities Transaction Execution & Insurance Placement - Support the end-to-end execution of tax insurance placements.
- Review tax opinions, legal memoranda, due diligence reports, and transaction documents.
- Assist in preparing underwriting submissions and marketing materials for insurers.
- Coordinate insurer diligence requests and track underwriting timelines.
- Support negotiation of policy terms, exclusions, and coverage enhancements.
- Ensure transactions progress efficiently and deadlines are met.
Tax Risk Analysis - Analyze complex federal, state, local, and international tax issues.
- Review tax structures and identify areas suitable for insurance solutions.
- Summarize technical tax positions and key transaction risks for insurers and clients.
- Assist in evaluating the strength of tax opinions and supporting authorities.
- Prepare detailed analyses and internal memoranda regarding tax exposures and coverage considerations.
Client & Insurer Engagement - Participate in client calls, insurer meetings, and underwriting discussions.
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for clients and insurer partners during active placements.
- Respond to insurer information requests and facilitate communication among stakeholders.
- Assist in presenting insurance solutions and coverage recommendations to clients.
Market Research & Business Development Support - Monitor developments in tax law, IRS guidance, court decisions, and broader market trends.
- Prepare market intelligence and benchmarking analyses.
- Support business development initiatives, including client presentations, thought leadership, and conference preparation.
- Help identify opportunities to expand client relationships and cross-sell broader transactional insurance solutions.
Team Development & Collaboration - Mentor and support junior analysts and new team members.
- Contribute to the development of internal resources, templates, and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with the firm's Representations & Warranties, Structured Solutions, Credit, and Business Development teams.
- Foster a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and client-focused culture.
Qualifications Education - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Taxation, Law, Business, or related field required.
- CPA, JD, LLM (Taxation), MST, or other relevant professional designation is preferred.
Experience - 2-5 years of experience in tax advisory, public accounting, law, transaction services, M&A tax, investment banking, corporate tax, or a related professional services environment.
- Experience analyzing tax transactions and technical tax matters preferred.
- Exposure to M&A transactions, private equity, or tax insurance is advantageous but not required.
