Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and tax practice leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement and strengthen the firm's overall tax quality framework.


  • Lead strategic initiatives that advance Tax Professional Practice Group's (Tax PPG) quality capabilities through innovation, data analytics, and continuous process improvement.


  • Drive the adoption and integration of AI-enabled solutions within Tax PPG to identify, evaluate, and champion practical AI use cases that improve quality, streamline activities, and enhance the effectiveness and operational efficiency of Tax PPG.


  • Partner with Market Tax Leaders (MTLs) to promote tax quality initiatives, address quality trends, and support remediation and continuous improvement efforts.


  • Serve as the primary Tax PPG liaison with Client Operations and Tax Technology to support operational alignment with tax quality policies and facilitate monitoring compliance.


  • Lead and oversee the tax quality control (QC) inspection program, including planning, execution, reporting, and continuous improvement of the firm's tax quality review process.


  • Develop and oversee executive reporting and dashboards that provide real-time visibility into tax QC inspection results, quality metrics, emerging risks, and program performance, enabling data-driven decision-making by Tax PPG and Tax Service Line leadership.


  • Present QC inspection and monitoring results and quality trends to PPG and Tax Service Line leadership, serving as a strategic advisor on matters impacting tax quality.


  • Support the due diligence, onboarding, and integration of merged firms by assessing tax quality processes, implementing Tax PPG standards, and facilitating successful integration into the firm's quality framework.


  • Other duties as required


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required


  • MBA or Master's Degree preferred


  • Fifteen (15) years of public accounting tax experience, including 5 years of relevant Tax Professional Practice Group experience


  • Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm experience preferred


  • CPA license, required


  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills preferred


  • Strong understanding of tax practice operations, engagement lifecycle, and tax quality management frameworks


  • Experience designing and implementing quality inspection and monitoring programs, preferred


  • Strong project management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility and trust across a diverse stakeholder group


The pay rate range for this job position is $230,830 to $302,980 (Seattle/Dallas), $229,000 to $317,400 (Chicago), Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
