About The Role
The Tax Manager – Financial Reporting & Compliance is a key member of the Tax team, supporting U.S. GAAP and statutory tax reporting, tax compliance, international tax matters, investment-related tax issues, and strategic initiatives across the Company.
This role will also serve as a lead resource for merger integration and tax transformation efforts, partnering across Tax, Finance, Accounting, Investments, Investor Relations, and IT to improve processes, implement technology solutions, and support the Company's future-state operating model.

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Support quarterly and annual U.S. GAAP tax provision and reporting processes under ASC 740.
- Support statutory tax accounting and reporting, including SSAP 101.
- Assist with federal, state, international, and Bermuda tax compliance activities.
- Analyze tax implications of significant business transactions, investments, and complex investment structures.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, Investments, and Investor Relations to support financial reporting, tax disclosures, earnings materials, and external reporting.
- Support tax audits, examinations, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
- Research and communicate the impact of tax law, accounting, and regulatory developments on the Company.
Integration, Technology & Process Improvement
- Serve as a key Tax lead for merger integration and transformation initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects involving Tax, Finance, Accounting, IT, Investments, and other business stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, automation, analytics, and technology.
- Support development of future-state tax processes, operating models, and reporting capabilities.
- Help ensure integration and transformation efforts result in scalable, sustainable solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness across the Tax function.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
- Serve as a trusted tax resource and mentor to junior team members.
- Communicate complex tax matters clearly to both tax and non-tax audiences.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and compliance service providers, providing direction, oversight, and review within the Company's co-sourcing model to ensure high-quality, timely, and efficient delivery of tax compliance and reporting activities.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to work across a broad range of tax topics based on business needs.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.
- CPA preferred; MST or MBA a plus.
- 6+ years of experience in tax accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, or public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740; statutory accounting experience preferred.
- Insurance or financial services experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with international tax, Bermuda, alternative investments, or tax technology initiatives is a plus.
- Strong analytical, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively across multiple areas of the tax function.

If the position is based in one of Corebridge Financials' hub offices which are Houston, TX, Jersey City, NJ. or Woodland Hills, CA office the role is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
