Description

We are seeking an experienced Tax Director to help lead our Real Estate Tax practice in Charleston, SC. The Director will play a key role in the delivery of exceptional experiences for our clients and our people. Acting as a trusted advisor, you'll leverage your expertise to further your community, grow your own career, and contribute to the success of the broader team.

As a Tax Director, you will:
  • Manage and oversee the tax compliance process for real estate partnerships, including the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns, estimates, and extensions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns and related forms, including form 1065 and K-1s.
  • Manage financial performance of engagement, including billing and budget for assigned projects.
  • Lead and manage client engagements from start to finish ensuring they are completed within the defined budget and timeline.
  • Provide continuous and proactive communication with clients, striving to exceed expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax operations, offer thoughtful solutions and enhancements to our processes.
  • Coordinate with team members on all phases of a tax engagement.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback, training, and mentoring to leveraged team members based on review of work.
  • Own the financial performance of your engagements, including billing and budget for assigned projects.
  • Contribute to practice development efforts by garnering referrals, engaging with the community through active involvement in the Charleston community to represent WebsterRogers and explore market growth opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with tax law changes and accounting related developments and best practices.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Accounting
  • CPA required
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in public accounting reviewing both individual and business taxation
  • 3+ years of experience in tax management, real estate, partnerships and form 1065
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements and teams
