The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing federal, state, and local tax compliance, with a focus on Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) qualification and taxation. You will report directly to the Tax Manager and collaborate closely with accounting and financial reporting teams.

Job Function: - Coordinate preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns, extensions with external tax advisors
- Prepare quarterly estimated payment and extension payment calculations
- Prepare and analyze data from general ledger and financial systems to support tax compliance and tax forecasting
- Maintain tax fixed asset ledgers in accounting systems, including coordinating with various internal teams to obtain necessary information, making book-to-tax adjustment entries, and collaborating with internal system users to streamline the proces
- Assist in quarterly and annual REIT asset and income tests
- Assist in shareholder reporting (e.g. Forms 1099-DIV)
- Assist in supporting tax audits by gathering documentation, preparing supporting schedules, and coordinating with external advisors
- Assist with partnership tax matters, including tracking tax capital accounts and managing Schedule K-1 allocations across various joint venture structures
Job Requirements: Job Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Taxation; CPA license strongly preferred
- 2 to 3 years of real estate tax experience in public accounting strongly preferred, experience with REITs a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and fast learner of financial software
- Strong analytical capabilities, excellent written/verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage
multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environmen
