Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns
  • Prepare quarterly estimated payment and extension calculations
  • Analyze data from general ledger and financial systems for tax compliance
  • Maintain tax fixed asset ledgers and optimize internal processes
  • Assist in quarterly and annual REIT asset and income tests
  • Facilitate shareholder reporting, including Forms 1099-DIV
  • Support tax audits by preparing documentation and schedules
  • Manage partnership tax matters and Schedule K-1 allocations

Full Job Description
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing federal, state, and local tax compliance, with a focus on Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) qualification and taxation. You will report directly to the Tax Manager and collaborate closely with accounting and financial reporting teams.

Job Function:
  • Coordinate preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns, extensions with external tax advisors
  • Prepare quarterly estimated payment and extension payment calculations
  • Prepare and analyze data from general ledger and financial systems to support tax compliance and tax forecasting
  • Maintain tax fixed asset ledgers in accounting systems, including coordinating with various internal teams to obtain necessary information, making book-to-tax adjustment entries, and collaborating with internal system users to streamline the proces
  • Assist in quarterly and annual REIT asset and income tests
  • Assist in shareholder reporting (e.g. Forms 1099-DIV)
  • Assist in supporting tax audits by gathering documentation, preparing supporting schedules, and coordinating with external advisors
  • Assist with partnership tax matters, including tracking tax capital accounts and managing Schedule K-1 allocations across various joint venture structures

    multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environmen
