Full Job Description
As a Tax Analyst within the TaxCycle by Xero product development team, you will shape software tools that simplify tax preparation for Canadian professionals. You will research and interpret federal and provincial tax legislation changes, converting complex legislative updates and customer requests into intuitive tax forms and accurate software calculations.

In this role, you will hold stewardship over an income tax filing module within TaxCycle, taking it from legislative analysis through to annual government certification. By collaborating with engineering, quality assurance, and customer support, you will ensure our tax products deliver exceptional accuracy and reliability for accounting professionals across Canada.

The TaxCycle product team brings together tax subject matter experts, software developers, quality analysts, and product managers who are passionate about building dependable tax solutions. Working collaboratively in an agile setup, the team manages product backlogs, conducts release planning, and solves customer challenges together. They connect daily through structured agile rituals to keep development aligned with long-term strategy and user needs.

Initially, you will focus on
  • Analysing Canadian federal and provincial income tax legislation changes to update calculations and form designs directly within the software.
  • Collaborating with development and quality assurance teams to ensure full compliance with government income tax filing certification standards.
  • Translating accounting partner needs and tax season feedback into prioritised user stories and product backlog items.
  • Supporting client escalation queries and producing clear technical release notes to guide users through legislative changes.

The expected base salary range for this role is $110,000 to $138,000

Individual pay is determined by various factors, including geography, level of experience, and the specific skills you bring to the role.

In addition to base pay, Xero's roles are eligible for the following forms of variable compensation:
